At first we thought he was a god send. He quoted us a good price and seemed very sincere. Because the cose was high we explained that it would be probably tax time before we could pay him. He said that was fine. I offered to pay a "storage fee". He refused. I kept in contact with him. Tax time came around and we took him the money. At that time he took a very long time to complete the work. It seemed like we had to stay on top of him to get anything done. He finally completed the work and we went to pick the car up. When I got into the car I found that my $350.00 stereo I'd gotten for my birthday was gone. I was shocked as this was never mentioned. I asked him about it and he shrugged and replied, we get robbed every few months. He never offered to replace it or anything. I told my husband well there is our storage fee. We left the lot with the car. We drove it less than 5 minutes when it started driving oddly. I pulled over and told my husband (who was following me) the car acts like it doesn't want to pull. He said that it might be from sitting. So we pulled back out. We drove about 10 minutes to the local Walmart. When we went to leave the car wouldn't pull. We kept trying and it would pull forward a little then stop. We waited and checked all of the fluids. We tried again and made it about a block. We pulled into a gas station. I called Chris and explained what happened. He said to have it towed back. We shelled out another 75 dollars and had it towed back to the shop. It took him three weeks to look at it. He told us it was a torque converter and that it would be around 650.00 just in labor to fix it. He priced it out at around 750.00 total. We told him we'd try to raise the money, but it might be tax time again. We again offered a storage fee which he declined. I talked to him several times to see if he gotten the part. He said no, I called he said no part, I called he said no part. I called he said you know, why don't you see if you can find the part I haven't had any luck. I found the part that day and called him again. He said that he would check that out and call me back. I offered him a storage fee, he refused. I never recieved a call back. My husband went down to talk to him and he told my husband it needed a transmission. He said that he would try to find a used one. My husband asked if we could give him anything for a storage fee; he said no. I've been calling trying to get ahold of him for about 6 weeks. They always say that he's not there and they will have him call. I leave my number he never calls. Finally today I reached him and went to get the car. We'd decided to scrap it as I have bills to pay and we aren't getting a tax refund this year. I  talked to Chris this morning. He said yet it's fine, come on down. He understood how it was. So I had the tow truck driver meet me there. When we arrived they said he wasn't there. We stood and waited for about 30 mins. Finally one of the workers came up and said let me call him. I told him the other guy had called Chris's father. He said ok, well I'll call Chris. He came back over and said well Chris asked me to tell you that his dad scrapped your car. I was shocked, I said I just talked to him about an hour ago and he said to come get it. He said well he said that his dad scrapped it. I said without my permission? He said well it was here for awhile. I said yes and Chris always knew what was going on. He said well that's what he said to tell you. I can't do anything for you. He said you can call this afternoon he will be back in here. I said like the last two months when I've tried to reach him? He said well I've told you everything I know, I can't help it if it doesn't make you happy.
