Hired John Stewart to do several interior and exterior projects at my fiancee's house. He had done some work for me at my house about a month ago and I was very pleased with his work. In this case we agreed with his estimate and he wrote up a contract. He insisted that we pay him a 50% deposit so he could buy materials. I wasn't thrilled with that (particularly because there wasn't much he needed to buy upfront outside of some paint), but I trusted him and I mailed him a check for $700.00. He left a voicemail message saying he got the check and he would see me on Monday 10-1 to begin work. He had immediately cashed my check and it cleared my bank on 9-27. We called and left him a message on Sunday 9-30 to tell him the paint colors we had chosen (painting the trim and repairing windows was one of the projects). He never showed up on Monday and he has not returned my voicemail messages or emails. Bottom line(without getting into details) is he no longer has my money and he is unable to do our project. So I am out $700.00 and trying to figure out a way to get it back.

I needed a house that needed repairs. I was under a very strict time frame and Jon was able to personally build windows. We contacted many providers and Jon was the only one willing to do the work himself. He also did a great job with the cosmetic work in the house as well.
