He is a good guy and I've worked him for nearly 3 years. Pricing is fair. He has done a lot of different stuff and we are happy with him.

They are great, have good customer service, are on sight, followup, and do good work. We've used them for 5+- years. They do our lawn, landscaping, and other things. I give them all A's and will continue to use them.

Hired the company to put down a layer of topsoil and then seed a 4000 sq ft lawn. Although the owner did come out right away to do an estimate, after that initial meeting it was difficult to get in touch with him. Estimate came several days after it was promised. Due to frequent rains, project was not able to be completed within time frame that was expected, but that was understandable due to the weather. However, when trying to determine when topsoil could be delivered, left numerous phone messages and e-mails to no avail. It was very frustrating to have no idea whether our project was even still on the company's schedule. Once weather cooperated, the work was completed in one day. Large rocks were raked out of existing lawn, but unfortunately instead of disposing appropriately, employees dumped in tree area in back of yard. Topsoil was put down with a tractor, which put large grooves in front lawn that have not perked up since project was completed over 5 weeks ago. Too much hay was placed on top of loose seed, so despite watering twice a day for 5+ weeks, large areas have no growing grass. Wish we had been told to loosen up the hay, as that might have made a difference. Three weeks after job completed, did contact owner again about the spots not filling in. He promised to come to do a follow-up and perhaps put down more seed, but he never appeared or responded to messages since.

Update: Owner has been working closely with us to fix any problems. He placed sod in the areas sunk down from the tractor and has offered to do slice seeding in the early fall to gain better results for the back yard. He had also sprayed weed killer in front and back to kill weeds not diminished by three Scotts Lawn Service weed applications.
Response from P.J.E. Lawn Care & Landscaping LLC
"In response to this report, I have reached out to the members to try to fix any mistakes that were made during their project. The project was completed in-full and on-time if you don't count the rain days. I discussed with the member prior to the work that most often times, when you install a new lawn from seed, you have to re-seed again at a later date. I did follow up twice after the job was completed. The first time was 5 days after the work was completed to check on the soil condition and seed/soil contact. The members were doing a great job of watering the newly seeded lawn at that point. The second time that I came by to follow up on the project was because of a phone call I had recieved from the member concerning the areas where the seed seemed to be struggling to sprout. Her concern was that too much straw had been laid in those areas. When I arrived I saw the areas that she was concerned about and made a few adjustments to the straw. I will also be providing the members with a complimentry slice seeding this fall. Like I have always said I will gladly stand behind my work and do everything I can to make my customers happy."
