The appraisal came back extremely low. We just had our house appraised twice within the last year for 30,000 - 48,000 more than Lisa Meinczinger's appraisal. As a result, we were unable to obtain a Home Equity Line of Credit.
When I looked at the appraisal, there was not much on the appraisal that was true about our house except for the address and the statement that it had a detached garage. The appraisal said that we had a brick home, concrete driveway, 3 bedroom home, 2 car garage, 1 story house and the picture on the front of the appraisal showed that our house is not brick, has a paved driveway and 1 1/2 car garage. Our house has had new windows, roof, new kitchen and new bathroom in the last five years. It is a nice house.
The comps that she used were not in our area. We live in the PAR-10 area which is bounded by Pleasant Run, Arlington, Ritter and 10th Street. Only 1 house in the comp was in our area and it was a much smaller house. The appraisal was done in a hurry, it was sloppy, and extremely inaccurate.
