The blower motor and wheel were worn out after 12 years and needed to be replaced. Rusty ordered factory parts and replaced them. He also fixed it so it would keep running while the parts were shipped overnight.

The owner removed and hauled away our old Geothermal system and installed the new one in about 2-1/2 days. The work included a humidifier and new thermostat. He arrived on time and worked steady throughout the day in a professional manner.

Right before Christmas, we noticed our house was colder and the auxiliary heat was running constantly (even though it wasn't that cold out). The compressor was not running. I had to search for a new company to service my unit since the company that did the installation was no longer in business. On a recommendation, I called Rusty at Total Comfort Solutions.
Given that it was the holidays, it took him a couple of days to get out to determine the problem. He said it was a bad coil because the coolant essentially ate through it. (Common problem of systems of my age, although I think we had a bad coil to begin with...more on that later.) He priced several options for us. He ordered the part and would be out about a week later to install it (again the holidays were really messing up the schedule). Unfortunately the part hadn't arrived as expected so we had to wait several days longer. When the part arrived, he fixed it.
The geo system has NEVER worked so well. This is why I say it was faulty to begin with. It was our first geo unit and didn't really know what to expect. We knew the auxiliary heat would kick on when extra cold, so we thought that was normal. Nope. Ever since Rusty installed the new coil, the auxiliary heat has kicked on only once and for a very short time. We've had some really cold temperatures and I know the old system (coil) would have ran aux heat nonstop. The house is warmer.

After contacting four different HVAC service professionals and questioning them extensively, I decided to go with Total Comfort. I was not disappointed. Rusty, the owner, and his crew were knowledgeable and efficient and the work was completed satisfactorily in a timely manner.
The overall experience was better that I expected.
My geo thermal installation is a unique one (overhead garage loft, close quarters) and another company bidding on the job said the unit would have to be completely unhooked from all connections (ductwork and piping), and spun around to give them access. Their estimate was that the job would take, and quot;all day.and quot; After leaving with the promise to check my warranty status and contact me with a quote, I never heard from them again. Just as well.
Kevin and George, the Total Comfort techs who performed the work, were able to get the job done without such drastic measures and had the new coil installed in about four hours. As Kevin was performing a routine check on the system, a weak run capacitor was discovered and I opted to have it replaced. This ended up being a bit more expensive than I expected and was the only real niggle I had with the service (and thus the B rating for price). Disclaimer: I may tend to be a little over-sensitive regarding labor charges since I do repair work on industrial equipment for a living. I could have easily replaced the cap myself, so it was my fault for not asking in advance what the cost would be.
The bottom line is that my unit now runs like new, thanks to Total Comfort Solutions.

The tech was on time, polite and performed the task quickly. I had them out to my house during the winter to service and repair our heating system that wasn't operating properly. They had done such a great job before that I called them back for the summer tuneup.

I had a new heat and a/c until installed last fall by a different company that had claimed they did everything as it should be. I called the number on the warranty paperwork and the representative referred me to Randy at Total Comfort Solutions. I called Randy to set up an appointment- he worked around my schedule and gave me a Friday at 8:00 am appointment. They showed up about 15 minutes before scheduled, which was great, and went right to work. Randy explained what they were doing and what issues they were having as he went. After they had finished checking the whole system he gave me a quote and asked me if I wanted the work done. I agreed and they got right to work. Both guys did an awesome job! It took about 4 hours for them to fix everything, but I have not had any issues and have been able to keep my house cool. These guys were very courteous, informative, and professional at all times! I will defiantly use them again!

Rusty was very responsive to our needs. We had just moved into a new house, only to discover on a Friday that the air conditioning had a catastrophic leak. He came that afternoon, verified the failure and offered us a number of options for replacement. He took nearly an hour going over everything to be absolutely sure we had to replace the system, and then spent another half hour explaining everything to us in detail and offering suggestions as to what would be the best system to install. Since it was late in the day on Friday, we did not expect to have the new system installed until the next week. I mentioned to Rusty that my wife did not do well in the heat, and he immediately offered (at no additional charge) to come out on Saturday morning to install the new system! (We didn't find out until later that he had plans to tailgate at the Kenny Chesney concert, which he canceled so that he could install our AC unit - how's THAT for a commitment to serving your customers?) Rusty and Ben, his assistant, showed up promptly on Saturday morning as promised and within a matter of hours had the system installed and working. He didn't have all the pieces he needed to reinstall the furnace flue, so he said he would return on Monday or Tuesday to install it, which he did. He also took the time to check out and clean our furnace, which we were concerned about since the AC had failed. We are strong believers in supporting local businesses, and I can't think of a better one to support. Rusty was responsive to our needs, went out of his way to make us feel comfortable with making a major expenditure on short notice, and conducted himself in a professional and honest manner throughout the job. I highly recommend Rusty and his work to everyone, and I would not hesitate to use him again for any of my HVAC needs.
