Jewelry Sales/Design/Repair
My fiance took my antique WG ring in for service as it needed prong repair, the diamond was loose. He was told it would be around $50.00 for 2 prongs and told me this. He left the ring to be serviced.
When I came when to pick it up, I was told it would be $85. I assumed it was for 4 prongs instead of two. I noticed it was shiny but just thought it was from being cleaned and polished.
I brought another antique WG ring to be checked out. I said to call me with a quote on how much the repair would be, if needed, BEFORE repairing. I was called and told it would be $10.00 to tighten it up, no prongs were needed, AND another 45. for rhodium dip. Then a light bulb went off.
The first ring was rhodium dipped and that is why it was so shiny. I have never heard of a rhodium dip before. No one asked if we wanted a rhodium dip for the first ring. I would have have declined as I did for the second one. I like the antique look.
My fiance calls and explains all this and was told that because of the situation, we would be credited for future visits. I sent them a letter February 4, 2013 stating this was not acceptable and that I wanted the credit sent to me. I received a phone call to call them and discuss it. There is no discussion I want my credit. Not my mistake.
