Dr Brickler knew what was wrong before the blood test even came back and prepared me to hear the results. His "bed-side" manner is excellent and he allowed me to be truly honest with the plans for next steps and didn't try to talk me out of it like some of my previous vets would have. He had Buddy's best interests and comfort in mind.

The cat has an adverse reaction to the annual injections. He got really lethargic and just not at all himself. I called the day that it happened, it wasn't the day he got the shots I think it was the next day. I called and I didn't realize it but they weren't open on that day of the week because they are open on Saturday, but they do have someone in the office. That lady called the vet and explained what I had described as the problem with the cat. She called me back and said that the doctor had approved her to give the cat an injection to counter that, and I could bring him right in. I thought that was pretty special treatment, and concern for the animal. It took care of the problem. I mean that day he was getting much better and by the next day he was back to normal. They didn't charge me, not that I remember. I have heard a lot of good things about this vet, I mean he is a special kind of person. It confirmed it for me. I think there are some organizations just would have said he is probably going to get better and let's see how he gets tomorrow. But that was not their reaction at all. They picked up from my description that there was something wrong. In fact when I first called they had me go through and do a number of checks like look in his litter box and see what it looked like and what he had been eating and things like that. It was obvious that they were concerned that something was wrong with him.

Dr. Brichler has been my family veterinarian for years. This was the first time that I was required to take one of my pets in, though, as my cat has had a very clean bill of health unlike my mother's many pets throughout the years. They were able to schedule an appointment to see my cat the same day that I called, which I found very convenient. Dr. Brichler was very kind and gentle with my "fur baby". He discovered that she was allergic to the fleas, so she was scabbing up around all of the bitten areas. He gave her a shot to counter-act the reaction, which I could see immediately put her at ease. They gave me 6-month supply of treatment for my cat, and also an effective spray treatment for my home. The entire staff at Briar Crest was very helpful in a stressful situation.

He is very thorough and he happily explains all of the questions that I have. He is good with the animal course and he runs a very tidy and clean office. It is so clean you want to visit him as the doctor. It is the cleanest place I have ever seen. He is very good. He has a thorough knowledge of what he does and he is very straightforward, truthful, and reasonably priced. He is not the cheapest I've ever been to but he is not the most expensive. He will give you options. If you come to him and say, I don't see doing business if this is the course of the treatment, he will give another option and say maybe you should do it. The staff is very nice, thorough, and competent. It is one of the nicest offices I have ever been to. I'm okay with the price. The quality of the service is very good. They are really good about getting me in. They will get me in as soon as possible. They are very professional.

Both dogs, at the time they were seen, were diagnosed with allergies. Concerns with brought up with both animals about the possibility that this may be something more (possible third eyelid problem with Maggie, and collapsed trachea on Ellie) but were basically brushed off as the cause being allergies. Two months after Ellie was seen she was rushed to Emergency Vet on 7/20/14 with severe gastrointestinal problems -which may have been related to liver disease (enzymes 3-4 times normal) and the vet, after hearing her panting, immediately said she was sure she had a collapsing larynx which had been going on for some time and the decision was made to euthanize her at that time as she was slowly suffocating and would eventually not be able to breathe at all. Due to this, gastro symptoms were not even addressed. This was the and quot;allergyand quot; that Dr. Brichler had diagnosed. Maggie, at that time, was still having eye problems even with the allergy shot and eye drops she had received. One week after Ellie was euthanized, 10 days after being diagnosed with and quot;allergiesand quot;, Maggie suddenly went blind and was also rushed to emergency vet. This vet diagnosed her with a systemic infection that took her sight. Lymphoma was also considered as the cause. Vet stated if it were a bacterial infection and she had been treated earlier she would most likely have not gone completely blind. Maggies eyes also started bulging due to eye pressure She was treated with antibiotics and steroids to see if she would improve. She did not. One month later, on 8/20/14, Maggie was also euthanized -exactly one month after Ellie passed. These pets had been patients of Dr. Brichler for most of their lives and had been extremely well cared for in the beginning. As this clinic gets busier, very busy, less time seems to be taken with the animals and the owners concerns. Unfortunately this time and care has diminished to the point where 2 beloved family pets within the last 2 months have suffered. These animals belong to my daughters were greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

A letter regarding the above concerns and in much more detail was sent to Dr. Brichler by my daughter (Maggie's owner) on 8/11/14 requesting 4 additional pets records as she is no longer comfortable using their services. Above info has been taken from that letter and I was asked to post this review as she is not an Angie's list member

I think he is amazing and I have been going to him for the last 15 years. I would not trust anyone else to take care of my dogs, especially as he will but the concern of the dogs first. Also, he is unbelievably knowledgeable.

I was able to get Buster in two weeks sooner for his physical than where I normally take him (which is also a great clinic, just very busy). Since I only have a limited amount of time from Buster's certification date to submit his paperwork, time was most important to me. We were greeted warmly (as always) and all the staff were great with him. Dr. Dave did his exam, filled out his required paperwork (even gracious enough to fax me a duplicate after I lost part of it), and gave us a great deal on combo preventative meds ($20 rebate).

We have been seeing Dr. Brichler for about seven years. We enjoy seeing all of his farm animals when we go down there. Dr. Brichler is extremely competent and is a very good veteraniarian. They keep their costs down (there are no computers, everything is still done by hand; all appointments go into a good old fashioned appointment book and all medical records are on charts, not computers), they are willing to assist you in a prompt way and are approachable. We've always been pleased with their level of care.

They do have some evening hours and are open until noon on Saturday. That being said, I feel like Dr. Brichler's popularity has definitely gone up since we started seeing him as he is VERY busy. I feel like we are sometimes being rushed through some of our appointments, not always, just once in awhile. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Brichler has provided care for my all of my pets for the past fourteen years. My menagerie over these years has included dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, and varied reptiles. Every visit was treated with courtesy and compassion, along with explainations of why he wished to proceed as he did. Dr. Brichler and his staff have never pushed unneeded services; but, they always advised what was felt best for my pets. I also truly appreciate his compassionate way of letting me know that the time may have arrived for my companion animal to be relieved of further pain. All in all I can highly recommend Briarcrest Animal Hospital.

When we first moved to Greenwood my neighbor highly recommended this vet. It wasn t to long after we moved that my 8 month old rottweiler/shepherd mix started showing signs of pain in his legs. I took him to the vet and he examined my baby and told me that I should put him down. He had issues with his hips, knees and had a few other problems. He felt that Montana would end up being VERY expensive and wouldn t be very old before he would have to be put down do to pain issues. I didn t like the abruptness or the diagnosis so I promptly left and went to another vet who saw things a bit differently. Within a year I realized that Dr Brichler had been right after all (just a little abrupt). I switched back to him and never regretted it. If possible he would recommend over the counter remedies for my dogs instead of insisting on taking the Rx route.

The Dr is very approachable, and will help determine what your pet needs and what shots are not applicable. The Vet even has a variety of camels and exotic animals in his stable at work - almost like a small zoo. You can tell they really care for animals.
