Both dogs, at the time they were seen, were diagnosed with allergies. Concerns with brought up with both animals about the possibility that this may be something more (possible third eyelid problem with Maggie, and collapsed trachea on Ellie) but were basically brushed off as the cause being allergies. Two months after Ellie was seen she was rushed to Emergency Vet on 7/20/14 with severe gastrointestinal problems -which may have been related to liver disease (enzymes 3-4 times normal) and the vet, after hearing her panting, immediately said she was sure she had a collapsing larynx which had been going on for some time and the decision was made to euthanize her at that time as she was slowly suffocating and would eventually not be able to breathe at all. Due to this, gastro symptoms were not even addressed. This was the and quot;allergyand quot; that Dr. Brichler had diagnosed. Maggie, at that time, was still having eye problems even with the allergy shot and eye drops she had received. One week after Ellie was euthanized, 10 days after being diagnosed with and quot;allergiesand quot;, Maggie suddenly went blind and was also rushed to emergency vet. This vet diagnosed her with a systemic infection that took her sight. Lymphoma was also considered as the cause. Vet stated if it were a bacterial infection and she had been treated earlier she would most likely have not gone completely blind. Maggies eyes also started bulging due to eye pressure She was treated with antibiotics and steroids to see if she would improve. She did not. One month later, on 8/20/14, Maggie was also euthanized -exactly one month after Ellie passed. These pets had been patients of Dr. Brichler for most of their lives and had been extremely well cared for in the beginning. As this clinic gets busier, very busy, less time seems to be taken with the animals and the owners concerns. Unfortunately this time and care has diminished to the point where 2 beloved family pets within the last 2 months have suffered. These animals belong to my daughters were greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
A letter regarding the above concerns and in much more detail was sent to Dr. Brichler by my daughter (Maggie's owner) on 8/11/14 requesting 4 additional pets records as she is no longer comfortable using their services. Above info has been taken from that letter and I was asked to post this review as she is not an Angie's list member
They do have some evening hours and are open until noon on Saturday. That being said, I feel like Dr. Brichler's popularity has definitely gone up since we started seeing him as he is VERY busy. I feel like we are sometimes being rushed through some of our appointments, not always, just once in awhile. I would recommend him to anyone.
