The owner’s name is Joel Thomas. I spent $7000 on that work. He is really a nice guy and very professional. He covers everything. That is very important for me. He does a great job.

I have worked with Joel for 10 years. On this job, he was very flexible in working with me to get this done. The rental management firm did not give him much time to get the work done, but he did and identified a plaster problem. He contacted me and resolved it.

This was the second time I've hired Joel Thomas as an exterior painter, and I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family. Mr. Thomas returned my call within a day and gave me a lower estimate than I expected by the next day (same price as five years ago). He painted samples on two areas of my house so I could decide what I liked best, and he bought the paint brand and texture I chose. He returned my calls promtly and he and his helper, Robert, were always courteous, flexible, and professional. They did neat and careful work without drips on the brick or damage to my landscaping. Mr. Thomas sprayed the house and also resprayed and hand painted rougher areas in the cedar so that the coverage was uniform and thorough. He did this without my asking him. The spray washing was completed within a week and the actual painting by the next week, over a few days' time despite dangerously high temperatures. A few grace notes, I was worried about my dog getting loose; but every day the latch had been securely shut on the back gate. The painters also moved the outside furniture back onto the porches when they were done, even though I had moved it off myself before the job started.

The communication was an issue. Some of the things we discussed in the walk-through estimate, were mentioned in the final contract. He said he would take down light fixtures for painting the ceiling, which is one example, and he did not complete that to my knowledge. Overall, I was pleased with the quality. The drywall was pitted and he was able to smooth it and paint it. The price was also fair.

He was prompt in responding when I called him and in getting me an estimate. He told me that it would be two weeks from the time I contracted with him and it was exactly two weeks. He got 50 percent of the job upfront. He cleaned up very well and did not leave any trash around the house. He did a very good job in painting the house and he came back to get the other 50 percent. His price was in the ballpark of everyone else.

For his quality, his prices are very competitive. Usually I would say you get what you pay for, but he gives you quality for the price. We've used him a couple of times and we've obviously been pleased since we continue to use him.

We spent about $2,000 on that work and were recommended to me by a friend. We also hired them to paint my mother in-laws house on the other side of town and they did a fine job on that. We moved from Indianapolis to Texas, but if I had a home in Indianapolis I would them again or recommend them to others there.

Joel Thomas and the people that work with him are professional, polite, and considerate. There is no need to be concerned about the people working with him. He is very helpful in suggesting colors that work well. He let me know when they would arrive, and they were on time. They covered and moved furniture, and worked hard and carefully. They patched imperfections on the walls, and painted the ceiling and walls. They also replaced four light fixtures that I had purchased. They cleaned up after the work was done, moved furniture back, and made sure that I checked to be sure everything was OK. Joel Thomas has painted and done repairs on the outside of my home twice before, and I would always hire him for that kind of work.

I can't compliment the crew highly enough. They arrived right on time. they got right to work, did an excellent job, cleaned up after the job was done, and left everything exactly as it was before they arrived. The work was very well done and all details were attended to. Plus they were both very likeable fellows.

We liked the work and they even stained our new wishing well to match the deck at no charge. We only wish they would have gave us one day's notice on the estimate and the day the work would be done. They worked quickly and cleaned up immediately after staining. I would use them again for our deck staining.

After the hail storm in June, our roof and siding were replaced and the trim and doors needed to be repainted. Joel Thomas has painted for us in the past, both interior and exterior and does an excellent job. He and his crew clean the areas to be painted, caulk all needed areas and protect screens with coverings and tape areas not to be painted. Their work is very professional and their clean up is excellent. They rechecked all painted areas to be certain nothing was missed.

In the process of repainting the bathroom they didn't move the toilet to paint behind it. They actually damaged the toilet somehow. There was a "Y" shaped crack going along the bowl and it was leaking water onto the floor. Our entire toilet had to be replaced as a result and cost about $250. They also need to repaint three walls they patched. I have contacted them four times. No one returned my calls for 5 days. When Tom did return my call, he said he was not going to pay for the toilet and he was not going to fix the walls they touched up. They were an hour and a half late, but they did give me a courtesy call. I would never hire them for anything again.

"The member seemed like a very reasonable person to work with in the beginning. The original quote was to repair nail pops on outside walls only, due to siding being replaced. We repaired all of the nail pops and painted walls top to bottom of these areas of the original quote. At this time she kept adding on small repairs throughout the whole house that were not part of the quote. I explained that the touchup would not match the original wall color due to the age of the paint. She said this was fine and kept adding on unpaid unquoted work. The member checked the entire job before we left and said everything looked great, she paid me the balance due. Three days later I received a call from her saying we broke her toilet, and she had it replaced and would like for me to reimburse her for the toilet. I explained to Judy that she should have shown me the toilet that was broke. At that point I would have came and looked at the damage and resolved the problem. Calling me after all of the repairs are finished proves nothing to me that we did this damage. I have no problem repairing or replacing any damage that I know we created."

We ran into a few issues with my decorators picking out the wrong paint, but Mr. Thomas stayed overtime to try and get the paint to work. His whole crew was very good and professional.

I got three estimates from contractors on Angies list. Thomas interiors was not the most expensive nor the cheapest, but I got along well with Joel the owner and that is a big part of my decision making. Joel was on the job site everyday, he does not sub-contract out. He even went so far as to help my wife pick out colors after I got totally flustrated with the process. I would and will hire Thomas Interiors again, overall it was a good experience.

He did a good quality job but his timeliness was a little slow. He got very busy and he couldn't finish by the time he said. The shelving units just took a little bit longer than he thought but he did a wonderful job. His pricing was right in line to other companies.
