Daves Lawn & Landscape

We are hoping that we can get this work done asap. I would like to see our yard finished before I begin doing my yard work. Looking forward to the finished product. I know it will be beautiful.

Had difficulty getting ahold of him, and he missed or was late for several appointments. Once the job was completed it rained and rained and washed a lot seed away, not his fault. I contacted him about replanting, at additional cost. He did not return phone calls, missed appointments, finally gave up!

Dave's came out on the date scheduled and did exactly what I expected.  Very efficient and professional.  I then asked for additional mulch to be delivered to my driveway as I was planning to cut out another bed and wanted some mulch for that.  They came back the next day and delivered mulch to the tarp I had setting on my driveway.  I have used Dave's for almost 10 yrs and they have always done a great job!

Right from the get go Dave (owner) wowed my husband and I!  We had a million different ideas for an outdoor living space in our backyard and he helped us take all our ideas and put them to life. He created a plan and promptly got to work. We got several quotes and Dave's Landscaping was the most competitive by far. Their team is incredibly friendly and trustworthy. They spent a lot of time at my house and I actually enjoyed having them around. A VERY hardworking group of men. 

We had a party that we wanted the deck complete by and Dave himself worked late several nights to get the project complete in time. We had a great party, and LOVE our outdoor living space. I wouldn't think twice about using Dave and his crew. 

Our deck was done last fall (oct 2015). We just had a bunch of trees and plantings put in a couple weeks ago. I am very visual and struggle with a sketch so Dave had his design team created a virtual video showing what our yard could look like down the road. SUPER COOL! Very up and coming. Love all of Dave's ideas. He has an eye for design and a ton of knowledge. 

I have reached out to Dave for advice on plantings & mulch (that my husband and I plan to do) and he has taken the time out of his day to respond and give me advice. I truthfully can't say enough good things. 

Horrible! Dave is very quick to personally show up at your home, get a quote and get to work, which means you pay big money for horrible customer service! They planted several plants and trees. More than half didn't bloom or blossom and Dave is no where to be found.

I have tried for three months to have him follow thru on replacing what he agreed "looked sad", on reimbursing when he "promised to make it right". Dave Purcell's phone is full, I'm sure with several unsatisfied customers...you can't leave messages or even get a reply text.

He got paid well and has no problem NOT standing behind his work!

Dave came out promptly to provide some advice and an estimate on a retaining wall that we were going to need to help with grading out our severely sloped backyard. We were putting in a pool and needed the wall. He quickly came back with a quote that put him between two other existing quotes but much less than the highest quote. He was willing to educate us on what was going to need to happen. He said he worked with one particular type of block for retaining walls, but he was very wiling to switch to what we preferred (we had done some homework before calling). We really like the weight of the Allen blocks. Dave stated that he hadn't used that block before but was very willing to switch. Dave's coordinated their work with the pool company so that the wall could be installed along with the pool construction. Dave tolerated all of our questions and concerns as the wall was being built. We had lots since we had never had a retaining wall put in and can tend to micromanage at times. He answered all of our questions when we had them. Dave's also graciously agreed to bury downspouts using the material that we had purchased. They also redesigned our irrigation system around the pool. There was a slight miscommunication and misunderstanding concerning $200 at the end of the project that we are pretty sure we were wrong on, but again Dave was very accommodating.
At the end of the day, Dave's Lawn and Landscaping is very professional, very willing to adjust, and very patient. The wall looks fantastic even after almost 3 years of settling. We will be contacting Dave's about additional work to be done soon.

They showed up and worked very hard all day and cleaned up every night. They put up with me I was here every day watching them with my suggestions. They were very kind to me and did a great job. I would recommend them.

The project took a while to be placd on the schedule. Once on the schedule, it was postponed for over a week by Dave. The guys came in and made great progress even with the tempurature over 100 degrees most of the time they were working on the job. A neighbor watched the progress and said that they did great work. Very meticulous about ensuring everything was level.Bad thoughts are: the transformer, switch and timer are on the ground behind the retention wall making it difficult to manually turn on and off or program the timer. The project should have had steps quoted to finish the job. Thats next.Overall, very happy with the look and feel of the patio. He made me proud!

We were very happy with the results.

Our subdivision uses Dave's Landscaping so they were recommended by our builder. They came to the house to clean out and reactivate the irrigation system for the spring. Brandon also showed how to use the controls. He had to come back later when we installed a fence. He was called to the house during the fence installation and arrived within an hour to plan moving the rear yard sprinklers that were out of our fencing area. They returned in a week to finish the job which went without problems. They did not charge for this service. I ran over the sprinkler ground cover for the electrical system with the lawn mower and Brandon came back out to replace the cover at no charge. Dave's Landscaping has always been friendly, knowledgeable and responsive to my needs. I plan to use them for the back yard landscaping because of the previous positive experience.

If we were to do it all over again we would make sure we were home so we could see just what was going on and we would avoid the above mentioned issues.

Brandon and his helper arrived in the morning right on time and worked tirelessly for most of the day. Their work was very neat and they had a great attitude considering the first job took a long time (on a humid day) and required moving countless wheelbarrow loads of topsoil and river rock. All the work was done professionally and the clean-up even better than expected. They had some mulch left over from the second job and installed it around some shrubs in another area at no charge. I will definitely use this company again.

Just started, not finished with the project but so far so good.

I first saw Dave Purcell's work at the 2011 Indianapolis Flower and Patio show. I had gone there specifically to look at samples of cedar pergolas - with the goal of having one built to create some shade for the south-facing patio. I obtained estimates from 3 companies for this work plus some small, general landscape maintenance jobs. Dave promptly followed through with the proposal that I liked the best, and worked with me to make the price fit my budget. Even during this busy time (after the flower show and also while he's also involved in the Decorator's Showhouse) Dave's crew got started less than two weeks after we signed the contract. The two men hand-crafted the entire project on site, including a custom treatment of the rafter "tails" that were appropriate to the house. They worked very carefully and somehow avoided stepping on any of the nearby plantings, and cleaned up the entire area. The result is wonderful and provides filtered light that will make the patio much more comfortable this summer. The quality of materials is first-rate too.

We were very satisfied with the work and the overall professionalism of Dave and his crew. Everything looked perfect and Dave always did what he said he was going to do, when he was going to do it. We could not be more thrilled with the work.

So far, so good. I’ve been waiting to see how it holds up over the winter but it looks like it is going to hold up. They are nice people and it was a decent price compared to others. I came across them at the home and garden show at the fairgrounds and they are fairly close. The fellow came out and he seemed to be nice so I gave him a chance. The only negative is that I had to wait my turn so there was a delay at first, but that is the nature of the business. I wasn't a high dollar client so I'm sure he took care of those people first. Once he got started it was only a matter of weather before he got it done. I went for it because it was in my budget. I would probably give them another shot depending on what kind of work I had.

It all started at the design phase. We interviewed about three different landscapers. They all did a great job, but he seemed to really listen to what we wanted with our landscaping and our patio. When he drew the print, it just seemed like the print had more of what we were looking for. It seemed like he knew what we wanted. He did a really good job. His crew also did a really good job every time they came. They cleaned up well. There were several times where it almost seemed like they were doing too much to clean up.

The landscaper was very knowledgeable on his design and the plants that he used for the area. They were good about getting started on the job, completing it and not dragging it for a long period of time. They came back and fixed small things that needed to be fixed. They were helpful with the questions that I had with reference to plants.

They stood out to me insofar as their quality of work and professionalism.

They did a good job and their prices were fair.

They put in my initial system 7 years ago. They do a good job and I would continue to use them in future.

The guy from the landscaping company was a good guy to work with. He was easy to agree with what we needed to have done. He and his guys did a good job in doing the work and did the job for the price they said they would do it. He did the job in the time he said he would do it. I was very happy with what was done. His price wasn't the cheapest but it was comparable. I was comfortable with what we agreed in the end.

They are a great company to work with. They did a very good job. I would recommend them to anyone because they are very knowledgeable and do very good work.
