This is the third time I have used this team and they have always done an amazing job.  Ed has ideas and advises on what is best for the yard.  His team works hard and does an outstanding job.  Our yard quickly became the showcase yard in the neighborhood.

I was looking for a major remodel of my landscaping and outdoor lighting, as there was little to it at the time and no lighting.  Arkenau Landscaping was recommended to me.  I put my faith in them to come up with the whole design, as I know very little about this.  Ed came out to my house, walked the property and came up with a design.  They just blew me away with the work they did!  I could have never imagined that landscaping and lighting could make that big of a difference on the presentation of my house.  Well worth the money I put into it.  I have used them several times since.  They are the type of company that you can trust to create a great design and implement it very well.  They go the extra mile.

Project was completed in 6 days. Very efficient and a lot of attention was paid to details. The crew was grew and Ed was very involved in the entire project. Ed really got our and quot;designand quot; and implemented it to perfection. Also has a tremendous amount of knowledge on plants and trees and recommended to us what exactly to use. You might be able to find it done for a little less, but they are certainly worth it. Extremely satisfied and would recommend to anyone.

When we have issues with things, they'll come back and check into this. They did everything when we built the home 12 years ago. So, they have been with us for 12 years and that says something about them. What I just described that they did last week, they've been doing annually and the other stuff they do and asked me the basics if we knew shrubs. We use them and our daughter uses them as well. They do more than that because they put in a patio for our daughter so they do full services.

In a previous review I wrote about the first experience with Ed Arkenau where we had $20,000 worth of engineering, drainage, and hardscape installed.
We also use Ed's company to do fall and spring prep work such as pruning, trimming, edging, laying of mulch, etc. They do a fantastic job and we will continue to use them.

A client suggested we use Arkenau Landscaping and we are so glad to have met Ed and his various crews. We have had him do extensive reworking of drainage and hardscape, as well as annual spring and fall maintenance.
We first contacted him about installing plantings and extending our brick patio. He told us he always guarantees his work and could not do so unless we reworked the drainage system around our house. He explained why it was needed and while it was more than we had expected to spend, thinking we were just going to have plantings installed, it has been well worth the price. With each heavy rain and no water in the basement or standing water on the brick patio my husband says and quot;Thank you Ed!and quot;
They preformed excavated and did the hardscape during that terribly hot summer of 2012. The crews were here on time and worked through the incredibly hot days. They were professional and hard working and the result was wonderful.
Since that time we have had more plantings installed. We like that they will come out in the fall and spring, in the fall trimming and preparing for winter. In the spring the do any necessary trimming and apply pre emergent and mulch and do a fantastic job edging.
There were a couple of plants that have not seemed to thrive and when I told Ed of this he said to give them a year and we would assess the situation. If they still weren't doing well he said he would replace them.
We would recommend Ed to anyone. He is as honest as the day is long and you will be happy with the results.

They were great to work with. The crew was about ten people working on and off. They completed all the projects in about a month. I really liked Ed, the owner. Ed was confident and he is a perfectionist. If he felt something was not perfect they would start over without us even saying a word! At the end of the project we were 100% satisfied.

Arkenau did our original landscaping in 2003 and we have used them each year since for maintenance and addition of new plants, trees, etc.

The patio is excellent. The craftmanship is impressive. The only negatives were with the lawn. When the project was done the lawn has some pits/dips were it didn't before. The dirt settled and now there is a dip. I have not called yet for what the company can do about it.

Ed and his crew were lifesavers. We had purchased blue stone pavers with the intention of laying the patio ourselves. We were under a time constraint as we had a party planned and needed the work done quickly. We came to the conclusion that this job was more than we could handle so we called Ed. We had talked to him before and he had given us a reasonable price for installing a patio. He again confirmed the price per square foot and miraculously could work with our schedule and time restrictions. His crew led by Rudy had shovels in the ground at 9 am on the day he promised. This crew was the hardest working trio of people I have ever had do work at our house. It was in the high 90's and they were always working quickly, carefully, and efficiently to get the job done. They would fill wheelbarrows with rock and sand and run the wheelbarrows to the patio site. They were truly amazing. They had our patio laid in two days and we then hired them to do the landscaping around it because they were so fantastic. Ed and his crew were creative, careful, incredibly hard working and polite. The price he charged us was extremely fair and exactly what he had estimated. I would definitely hire him again.
