Last time I had an in person experience with them was 10 years ago and I had a negative experience. We haven't updated our phones in years and the one I am currently using is 6 or 7 years old. I don't upgrade because I will have to sign a new two year contract. Verizon has the widest coverage in our area, so that is why we stay with them. If it was up to me I would go somewhere else because they are expensive.

I have been using their services for about two years. Getting in touch with someone for customer service is very difficult. They were unwilling to send someone to the house to check on our computer. Overall, they were not very helpful. I ended up going to a neighbor who worked for them to get anything done.

After a few months of service the cable modem provided by them failed, I called the company and ask for someone to service it, instead, they sent me a box with a replacement and expected me to change and send back the busted modem, to my surprise, the modem they had sent was also non working!!!!!!! They made a fool out of me, did they not realize they should have checked the modem before shipping? I called them back, asked for service, made the point the modems where bad, and their response was, that they did not send serviceman for that type of problem!!! My whole experience with Verizon was one I would not like someone else to experience.

The network is great, but the people need help. The wait times at the store are totally unacceptable. It's so bad, you have to sign into the queue and monitors in the store show your name, position in queue, and wait time. We've came in and ordered accessories (they're never in stock) and then they ship the wrong stuff. The sales associates don't understand anything more advanced than a basic calling plan, and even then not so well. They also fail to correctly communicate their pricing. We were told our Blackberry would be $200. When we reached the register, it jumped to $350. The explanation? "Oh, you're an existing customer. Those prices are only good for new customers. It really doesn't matter if you're signing another contract or extending one, those prices are reserved to entice people to switch to us from the competition." As I said, the quality of service is great - I travel coast-to-coast and am on the road 46 weeks a year. VZW service works better than others.

Even though we had gone over the time period to not have a penalty, Verizon tried to charge a termination fee of approx. $350. Verizon seemed to us to be a very difficult company to deal with.
