Two Men and a Truck claim to "treat your belongings like they treat their own grandparents". If so, someone should check on their grandparents. We contracted with Two Men and A Truck in Fort Wayne to move our household from Roanoke, IN to South Carolina. We chose them largely because of their pitch that our belongings would be loaded onto a truck dedicated to just our belongings. We will not be sharing that truck with anybody else. That is the service we paid for. When our moving truck arrived, the first 6 feet of the truck and the attic section of the truck were already loaded with items from the companies owner that he was sending to a location in Florida. Because it was a non-dedicated truck, roughly 6 feet of our goods did not fit on the truck. As a result of being forced to share this truck with the owners belongings, a second truck was used to load the rest of our stuff and take it back to their warehouse. When our belongings left our house, they left in two trucks instead of the one that we were promised. When we received the first truck two days later, we noticed a significant amount of goods on the back had been unloaded. These items appeared on the second truck, which arrived the following day. A significant amount of these items were damaged and broken. Prior to the loading we paid for what they sell as moving insurance. It is supposed to damaged goods. We paid $208 for a protection plan with a $500 deductible. The company refused to honor the protection plan we purchased, claiming they only owe us $.60 on the pound for damages, despite the damages being caused by their negligence and the violation of our original agreement. If you use them, buyer beware. They will not honor your contract and will not pay to replace the items they break, even if you purchase the optional protection plan.

Disgraceful! My husband and I have owned a local business for thirty years. If we treated our clients as we we were treated by customer service at Two Men and a truck, we would have been bankrupt years ago. One week ago, I called and scheduled a move for my mother who is leaving her home to move to a senior apartment. She is bedridden and severely disabled. I was quoted a price snd told it needed to be paid in full that day and there were no refunds I complied with this request… Two days before the move I received a call from a female agent from Two men and a Truck to go over the details of my move again. I was told the person I originally spoke with was not available but this agent could go over the details with me. Everything was stated as originally ordered until we got to pricing. I was told the money I paid up front was just to reserve the service and I would owe an additional $700 the day of the move. I told the agent this was very disappointing to hear because I thought everything was paid during my original call. But, I agreed to pay the added amount bc we were two days out from our move. Again, all I said was that I was DISSAPOINTED about this . The agent then went on to tell me that because I said I was disappointed that I needed to speak to someone else. She then used what I’m guessing is a corporate motto because I heard it about ten more times. She told me that since “ they were not exceeding my level of expectation”, I needed to speak with another agent. I explained that I was very busy that day, we had already went through all the details of the move twice, I had agreed to pay the additional fee and just wanted to move on. I didn’t want to make a complaint or go over all of this again! We got off the call and I assumed we were finished. A few hours later, this same employee called to tell me that my mothers move was cancelled because i could not say the company could exceed my expectations. At first I thought this was a joke. All I had said was that I was disappointed with the pricing issue but wouid pay it and move forward. She again kept using the fact that I would not say they “exceeded my expectations” as the reason my move was cancelled. What I found most deplorable about this call is that the woman seemed to enjoy the power she had to cancel the move because I would not agree with using her phrase. I recalled the office and spoke with another agent. I told him I felt this was a very big misunderstanding and outrageous since our move was in two days. He backed up the companies decision by continuing to use the same corporate phrase, “ we cannot exceed your expectations so your move is being cancelled”. By this time I was very upset. Obviously this company has no idea how much work goes in to moving a person who is severely disabled. Making sure everything comes together on the same day is essential to a disabled persons emotional and physical safety. I told him I would be looking into small claims court because this was a violation of our contract. Whoa, this resulted in me hearing the corporate motto about five more times. They cancelled my move with two days notice because I would not use their corporate phrase!!!! They put my mother at risk. Where is the heart of this company when they punish me for not using their phrase by punishing my disabled mother I did get back on Angi and found a new mover. This new company was very professional snd get this….I’m paying About half the price as Two men and a Truck we’re going to charge me. If this company thinks I’m done with this issue they better rewrite their motto. They have failed at exceeding basic curtesy, customer service snd respect. I will never miss an opportunity to tell the realtors, clients, organizations snd committees Im on about this example of this disgraceful service. I implore Angi to take you off this site because you make it look bad. Take your motto of exceeding expectations…. Put it in one of your trucks …..and drive far, far away from our community

The real issue is if they damage your personal property they will not fix it. They damaged frame of brand new Anderson door in a brand new house. Pieces of the bottom part of door frame were cracked and chipped away by them rolling dolly over it. Notified company immediately. They came out and said get a quote. They never followed up. Kept calling and another worker came out. They said it is cosmetic. Told them we do not accept this and they said they would follow up they never did. Quotes were given for replacement. They said dollys are supposed to have protection so they do not damage property but they are old. Damaged garage wall. Did not properly patch hole and never came back to fix it. They will not fix any large damages. The move took significantly longer due to weather and circumstances. This was understandable. At the end of the day almost all of the crew were sitting outside when there was still furniture to build. Hired them to pack kitchen also. The boxes they did not label, a quarter of the kitchen they never packed.

Do not use this company. I have put in a complaint with the BBB and they have yet to call them back with any resolution. I was given a time frame that the men were to arrive and that time came and went with no update from them. Then, they were unloading my stuff and dropped one of my pieces of furniture. When they finished (I had them move my stuff to a storage unit) they put my metal toolbox in front of my wood dresser over the lip of the cement where you are not supposed to place anything. When I opened up the door for the first time, the toolbox was pushed back and scratched my furniture. There was no way anyone else could have opened the door without that happening. They should never have packed the unit that way. They claim it is not there fault since it wasn't damaged in the move, but it was damaged because of the movers. Please, read reviews and stay away from this company!

went very well. Three men were on time and finished ahead of schedule. A few scratches on the furniture, but overall they worked their tails off.

They were fabulous. They were on time and no items were damaged. They even stopped at our storage unit on the way to our new home and picked up other items.

I had called and gone over everything with their representative on the phone, what I had that needed to be moved. They gave me the hourly rate. When the men got there, they acted confused as to how to use the lift on the truck, and how to move the items. They said it would take one more guy to do the move in the time alloted, but didn't call for one. One guy kept disappearing who knows where, and one guy looked and acted exhaused. The one guy who did most of the work was kind of in charge, but they kept asking me what they should take next. They were unprepared; they didn't bring tools to break down the bed frame, and told me they'd have to leave it behind! I asked if they could call somebody to bring tools, and they refused. Then they told me, well this is taking too long, and we have another job, so we have to go! I was freaking out by this time. They got their manager on the phone, and he finally agreed they needed to stay and finish the job! They didn't pack the truck correctly, left over half the boxes, some of the furniture, and the bed frame! When they were moving the stuff into the house, they broke the screen door, and didn't even mention it. I called the manager back and he said he would send another truck to get the rest of the items, but he only sent a van. They got what they could in the van, and thankfully, the bed frame! So a four or five hour job took all day! It took me a week and willing friends to move the rest of what they left behind. The manager also said he would send $50 to cover the cost of repairing the screen door, but I never received it, even after calling and reminding them after a month! I finally got a check from them in December. They moved like snails (after all, it IS an hourly rate), were over-priced, destructive, and dishonest. I'll never use them again.

We were not very pleased. The final price was a couple of hundred dollars more than we anticipated, and the movers showed up VERY late due to getting lost... and then billed us from the original time they left the warehouse plus the wandering travel time. They said they would adjust it off the finishing time at the end of day, but we were still over-charged.
They did a great job wrapping all the furniture extensively and everything got moved adequately, except for a piano we had in the basement. They barely got it up the steps, scratched the piano (which we did not discover until several days later... oops), but the biggest problem was that the wall on the stairwell and the hardwood floor at the top of the stairs were deeply gouged. I took photos of the floor and emailed them and my concerns to the company. I had to contact them two or three times before getting a response; presumably they contacted the new home-owners, but who knows?
I will not use them again!

The movers arrived on time. I had a lot of glass tabletops and they were very careful not to scratch or break them. They were courteous and pleasant. I would recommend them to anyone.

The movers were very good, very nice and very helpful. The truck, however, wasn't large enough for everything...nor did they offer to go back to get the little things they couldn't fit. They also didn't tell us ahead of time that our generator and lawn mower could not be moved since they still had gasoline in them. Perhaps that's common knowledge and we should have known that... We now have to rent a small truck to finish the job ourselves.

The guys who helped move our household were very nice young men. They worked hard and consistently. My complaint is the follow-up that I have had with them. After being in our new home for a few weeks, I discovered two big digs on my baby grand piano.
I know accidents can happen and there is really nothing that can be done about it. BUT, I have contacted the corporate office twice now to share my concern regarding the piano. The reply I received was that the concern was being forwarded to the Fort Wayne office. I have never heard one word from the Fort Wayne office. It would have been nice to receive an apology for the damage done.
I would not recommend this company to my friends and family.

We moved in August of last year, and we had a bad experience with Two Men and a Truck. They were supposed to move our large furniture. We were moving as much of the small stuff as we could. They told us the size of the truck that they felt they would need. The big problem was when the two movers came, the front of the truck had moving blankets lying there. They used only one or two of them with all of our furniture. When we got from our apartment across town to where we are now, which takes about 15 - 20 minutes to drive, several pieces of our furniture were badly scratched. One item was totally destroyed. The front of our refrigerator was scratched. It was a disaster. And then they left part of the stuff in the garage. They didn't have room in the truck for it. In my estimation they didn't pack it with any thought in mind as to what they were putting in there. If you deal with this company, get everything in writing. We had the feeling that one of the movers had barely worked on the job at all. He had no clue as to how to handle a piece of furniture, wrap it up or anything. He was there to get a paycheck and that was it. He had no concern about anybody else's belongings, so we had quite a go-around with them. Ir was the price that attracted us, because we thought we were getting a good price. It was hard to get hold of them and get answers, even when we scheduled it. The manager did his best to make up for some of the issues. They did refund us some money and repaired some of our furniture. They gave us some money to replace the destroyed item. The one employee lost his job over it. So the manager was not able to control the people and he did his best to try to make amends, but by that time the damage was done.

This was a miserable experience that bothers me to this day and now that I'm a member of Angie's List I couldn't wait to write this review.
I had used the same company when I moved from Indianapolis to North Webster in the same way in 2009 with no issues, so I hired them again. When they arrived on the morning of our move we were immediately informed that there was no way to fit all of our belongings on the truck, but we were ok with that because we had rented the truck for 2 days. The main guy in charge (which I can't read his hand writing on the receipt...yes I still have it!) asked us on more than one occasion what absolutely had to be moved. Each time I told him that my basketball goal was #1 because we knew the 2 of us could not lift it by ourselves. I was very busy with finishing up our packing but did stop to check several times to see if it was on the truck. I would have thought they would have put it in first (like the Indianapolis guys did when I moved it the first time) and then packed around it but they didn't. So I reminded him each time that it needed to be on the truck and he led me to believe it would be. They are the experts, so I believed him. But when it came time that the final few items were getting loaded it became clear that he had not left room for it. I was very upset and told him that we had told him it was one of the items that had to be moved. He said there was no way for it to go and be able to load around it, which I knew was not true since it had been done before. We did not have time for them to unload and reload at that point because we had the movers set up to meet us in Indianapolis. When we came back the next day to finish moving what wouldn't fit in the truck, we tried to move it ourselves, but it was way too heavy and we couldn't get it in the truck. I called their office on more that one occasion to tell them about the situation and that I felt they should pick it up and bring it to me, they refused. Somehow in their mind, this was my fault. I spoke with Andy on at least 3 occasions. He said he would try and help me, but by help, he wanted to charge me $400+ to bring it to me. That is how much the basketball goal cost (and it was only 2 years old). He told me the mover said that he couldn't pack around it and we wouldn't have had many items on the truck which is false, he just didn't want to pack around it. They were rude, they had no sympathy what so ever and refuse to do anything at all, period. The owners of the property ended up taking it and moved it to their house. So I am out one of my favorite possessions and Two Men and a Truck from Fort Wayne don't care, didn't send me the money to replace it and would not bring it to me without charging me an enormous fee. I have told MANY MANY people this story and not a single relative or friend has used their company to move, that has been my only recourse. I want them to send me a check to replace it and I hope this review will make them do it. I would be happy to write about them making it right. So will they? Your motto is "Movers who Care". Well its way past time to show me that you do.

They worked tirelessly for us!
When we initially contacted the company, we received a response right away with some questions about the items we needed moved and where they needed to be moved to. After we completed that information and submitted it, we didn't hear back from them for about two weeks. When we were finally able to reach them, they sincerely apologized and quickly gave us a quote. We were able to schedule the move shortly after.
The two men and the truck arrived right on time at about 8:30 a.m., and by noon they had the truck loaded and they were on their way to our new house.
They worked very quickly, but moved all the items - including the boxes - by hand. It seems like they could have worked a little more efficiently by using a moving dolly. But, they got the job done with no damage.
Both were very polite and professional, and extremely hard working.
Our only complaint would be that the quote wasn't really accurate. We completed an approximate list of the items we had, but no one came out to the house to look at it with a professional eye and give us a more accurate quote. As a result, the move went over by close to a couple hours, costing us a chunk of extra money.
Still, the movers who came out did a great job, and it was well worth the price in the end.

It was a very positive experience. They were very good. They were efficient but were personable. They came in and were friendly. They were polite and funny. It was a just a good experience; they worked very hard. In fact one of the workers had just come to the United States the day before which was quite cool because he got here and got a job right away. He was Latino and spoke broken English. He said it was his second day here and first day on the job. Their prices were reasonable but I don’t have anything to compare it with; they were not cheap. I liked them because they were funny.

They did an excellent job. We definitely will use them again. I recommended them to my Mom. She had the same company, but a different crew. They packed things for her, and a lot of her things were broken. She wasn't very happy with us for our recommendation.

When asking the estimator how he determined the weight of the load, he stated that he could estimate from his experience. This was not what I wanted to know. When I asked again before contracting, he indicated that they weighed the truck before loading it and then took it to a certified weigh station to determine the weight of our things. The drive told us where they were going to have it weighed and invited us to come and watch the weigh in, which we declined. However, it was great to be asked.

All 3 (due to extra heavy furniture items) men were courteous, hard-working, and did everything we asked of them. They went out of their way to perform extra tasks, such as having to disassemble and reassemble a large roll-top desk to be able to get it into a room in the new home. We have had two experiences with this company and all 6 people we have dealt with were friendly, courteous, punctual, and willing to help in any way possible. The company bills by the hour (so 3 men costs more than 2 men) but they tell you the billing rate up-front, so there are no surprises (including the $100 charge for the truck, which is above the hourly fee). Highly recommend this company.
