Anyone who works there is capable and willing to assist with repair questions; they want their customers to send their friends inl I have already done that twice in the past 4 months.

I would have gladly paid extra for priority service, but that is not offered. Other than that, excellent service!

They were very good. They were very knowledgeable. I took my computer in for something very simple and he fixed it right away and he didn't charge me. The work they do is good quality and they are reasonably priced. They were a little slow to fix it.

Finally it was finally time for a new computer. I my finances in order. I took a detailed list of needs/expectations to the sales desk and the salesman built up a spec sheet and quote from my list. Note that this was all done without an appointment. Anyhow, the salesman had made his list of recommendations and prices and we sat down to go over the sheet in detail so I could agree with or change any component listed. If I was unclear or I did not have any basis to make a choice as I went down the list, the salesman helped me through each option. First was the question of my preference for Intel or AMD based system since a good bit of the rest of the system is dependent upon that decision. I had come in with a preference but I did ask for the shop opinion. The responses from the sales and tech team were clear and logical. As it turned out, my preference would do nicely for my intended usage but it was good to hear good reasons why. There were a couple of price point issues - we can't always afford all that we want - so I had to make some trades to keep cost in line. All that was needed was trading performance in a couple of areas for performance in different areas. It was suggested that I get a motherboard to support the latest processor just being released. Although I couldn't afford it, the processor two steps down was "adequate" - but not heart stopping. The good news is that in a year that new processor would be very affordable and most likely there would be something even better that was yet to be designed. Rather than spec a computer with designed obsolescence, we had a computer build that would support new technologies a couple of years into the future. The sales team had designed a computer with the intention of upgrades in the future. Certainly there are great computers out there for less cost out of the box, but over the years I believe that I have gotten better service and function for less cost from Stone Computer.

When I took it in, they were very helpful and took a quick look while I was there. They said some things were obviously bad and would need to run a complete test. I said fine and they said it would be done in a day or two. It was not done in two days and I returned about two more times before it was ready. Total time was about 2 weeks. I was not really given a firm estimate on the cost-it seemed to vary based on if I bought a new PC there (assuming mine was shot), have them fix mine, or just forget the whole thing. I ended up paying $89 (the highest price talked about) and did buy a new laptop. They seemed to be more interested in building a PC for me versus buying a laptop (they do not build laptops) or have it fixed.
