Auto Service
I have an old car (2003). I was told by a body shop that I should get my car rust proofed right away. I had never had it rust proofed and I knew my car was very rusty. After checking businesses that provided that service, I choose Rust Check (aka Warner's Garage) because they offered a good price. But, I found out you get what you pay for.
My car had a small rust spot (the size of a quarter) on the interior of a rear door. The spot was small and paint was all around it so it wasn't noticeable. When I picked up my car, the paint had been pealed away and the hole was as big as a tennis ball and ragged. They did not point this out to me, I pointed it out to the employees and we started the process of trying to work out a solution.
I got a quote to repair the hole from a body shop in town and took the quote to to Warner's Garage. I offered to pay half of the cost of repair ($250), having the work done at the shop which supplied the quote. I was confronted by the owner and 2 employees saying they would not repair the hole. I told them I got the message and said I would write a report on Angie's List saying I was a dissatisfied customer, at which point they offered me the most INSULTING deal I could imagine. The offer was: Warner's Garage would do the repair on the hole themselves at their body shop. They would charge me half of the quote from the other body shop ($250) BUT they would not write up an estimate telling me what work they would do nor what the cost to them would be because 'A QUOTE TAKES TOO MUCH TIME AND TIME IS MONEY'.
How stupid do they think I am? Without a quote I had no way of knowing what work they intended to do. I guess they thought they would get back at me by repairing my car without any guarantee of the work. Then i would really be stuck.
So, I left their lot a dissatisfied AND insulted customer.
