POORMAN'S HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING

I love them. I used them a couple of years ago and the owner just happened to be there (on a Saturday) and he took me inside, helped me take the thing apart, showed me everything and it was great. I called them about a year ago to inspect the furnace and everybody did a great job. They went way out of their way.

Poormans arrived on time, removed our old air conditioner and installed a new one.  Their service was excellent and we were able to do much work through the phone and email.  Our air conditioner broke down during the hottest time of the summer.  Poormans provided an estimate on a Monday and they had the new unit installed the next day.   Poormans has served us many times and always excellent service.

Within a week they came out and gave me a estimate and did the installation The installers that did the work were very knowledgeable and did great work .Having to work in a hot attic they finished the work and had our home cool all in the same day

Poormans installed a Trane attic furnace and air conditioning system over 10 years ago and the A/C pack seized up. When I heard the estimate for the new motor, it forced a look at updating the entire system. The new Trane system is more energy efficient, moves air more effectively, and adds a heat pump for further savings which reserves the propane for temperatures below 15 degrees. We agreed to the new system on Tuesday, the parts arrived on Thursday, and the team was in here Friday. The old system was carefully removed and new system installed with no problems. The installers cleaned up and had us back up and running better than ever. Andy Baker provided the quotes, support, and even came by to help the installers to get the old furnace out of the attic and the new one up through the hatch. Outstanding service!

Our furnace went out on the coldest day of the year. I got Poorman's name from Angie's list and within a couple hours, they were at my house. The technician determined the cost to repair the furnace would be $1,200 so we decided to replace it and get a new air conditioner at the same time. The salesperson, Brian, was very informative and made a very professional presentation. They installed the furnace and set the air conditioner within the week since the tech was able to rig our old furnace to work until they could install it. I was very impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

Estimate on heat pump and duct work

It took about 4 trips to the house to complete the job because they had to coordinate their work with the plumbers. First the plumbers determined the leak was under the furnace, next they came out and removed the furnace, the plumbers came back and repaired the leak (and tore up the floor with a jack hammer to get to everything), then the Poorman's came out to repair the ductwork put in the new furnace/AC, and repair the concrete. Finally we had to get Paul Davis out to clean out the ductwork and put down new tile from where they tore up the floor in the bathroom (next to the garage) to repair the ductwork. Needless to say having 3 different contractors working side by side to do this repair took a lot of coordination and the three did an excellent job. The new furnace is working great, the floor they tore up looks brand new and no more leaks.

The first time I called they seemed to have lost my service request because when I called the next week to ask when they might be out they didn't know about it. It sounded like they were breaking in a new employee. Regardless, the second time I called they showed up the same day so I only took off one point for responsiveness.
The service call was rapid and professional. I took a point off of the price category because the rate I was charged per pound for the R-22 was a bit higher than the market rate at the time. Ultimately, the price was worth it considering I was so low on refrigerant that the condenser wasn't even getting warm. By the time they left I once again had frigid air coming out of my registers.
I was happy with the company. Considering the age of my system I'll keep them in mind in the near future when I'll be replacing it.

Poorman's technician came on time and explained the work that needed to be done. He gave me the price of the parts to be used and completed the work quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend this company.

I used them when I couldn't use another provider. They were reliable. They came out when they said they would and did the job. That's quite unusual. They did a good job, but they were a little pricey. People think highly of them. I really have no complaints.

Everything went according to plan. They let us know ahead of time what to expect, and then followed through.

We have used Poorman's for years - they were the ones that initially installed our new furnace several years ago, and we would not hesitate to recommend them.

We had to wait an extra week before the installation as Andy, their specialist, had gone out of town, but when he got back, he started on our project straight away. The generator was installed on its pad, plumbed into our propane system, and conduit laid to the entry point in the house. The new circuit breaker panel was installed and Andy had the system ready for test. We had to overcome a wiring error in the manufacturer's documentation that prevented the generator from shifting back to line power automatically. It only took an extra half hour to get the system completely operational. Poorman's did a great job with this installation and the generator has worked as advertised during a few outages in the last few months. In fact, Steve Baker Sr came to inspect the job and saw that our air conditioning pack needed cleaning and got that taken care of as well. Outstanding service and professionalism from the Poorman's team!

After I signed the contract to replace the furnace and A/C systems they were timely and did a complete job. Careful in the installation process and took time to explain to me how things worked. The new system has worked just as promised and they have followed up to make sure I am happy.

The exceptional work that this company has done for us over the years was the real reason why we chose them to do this job. They are punctual down to the minute and very responsive to our questions.
