This is the most convenient Lab in Fort Wayne. Valet service is really helpfull ! You pull up, The Valet gives you a ticket and parks your car. Check in at Admissions with your Lab order and walk a few feet to the Lab. It is seldom that there is a long wait to get your Lab work done. When done, give your parking ticket to the Valet and you car is brought to you. Very considerate and professional staff ! The Lab at Parkview/Randalia is the Best ! I have been using this lab for over two years and their work is excellent !

Last time I was in at Parkview they seemed to be interested in sending me to the nursing home. They kept testing me strengthwise to see if I could stand up to some of their tests and I don't know. If I get started on Parkview I don't stop, because I spent seven days there, and it was bad. They sent all their money and staff out to what I call the Emerald City - Dupont. I told my family doctor, she's smart, she's not too familiar but she said go to Parkview North, that was her recommendation.

There were some good people there, don't get me wrong, but they had a lot who were not trained well. They had a no-fall campaign, they didn't want anybody falling so they had all these girls that were fairly new and they had them just terrified that they were going to let somebody go, and you know, get fired or whatever, get hell for it. Then they had some people wh o didn't really understand the whole thing, they also had some really excellent people; it was quite a mixture.

The facilities were inadequate and I said, I called up the Patient Representative and she said and quot;Well we're thinking about moving that group to the new remodelled partand quot;, and I said and quot;Well I thought that had to be the old building because it was pretty bad as far as the facilities go. There was no place to wash, they gave you a little bucket of water to wash in, a little pan of water and that's it, I was there for seven or eight days.

It's a general hospital. They do have an emergency, it's a recognized trauma unit which means it's fully staffed to handle just about anything that comes in - supposedly.

My doctor is only at Parkview and it's only a mile and a half from us so I've been going there for emergency care too several times.

Some of them were trained well and knew their jobs and quite a few didn't know what their job was and were afraid I was going to fall. I don't know, some of the people there had fairly serious problems, and I was not allowed to get up on my own, which is, that's their business if they want that protection so I wouldn't fall, but they kind of overused it. At some point they should have realized that I was much more capabale than they ever gave me any credit for.

And the food was horrible. I didn't eat for five or six days and then thought and quot;Oh boy - I'll get some foodand quot; and that stuff they brought in, I said I've seen better looking roadkill than what they brought in, and I'm serious.

They have a big problem, as far as I'm concerned I call it Parkview Guantanamo because I felt like a prisoner, that's what I felt like. I wouldn't go back.

Friendliness, it depended who was on duty. They changed shifts quite a bit and I got to know some real nice people, they call them nurse techs now, nurses assistants. I did meet some nice ones but some of them were not so nice, didn't know what they were supposed to do very well. Some of them made some mistakes, medical mistakes, that happens I guess.

My wife had a non-critical emergency and they got her in within 30 minutes.

I spent a little a time on all seven floors during my time there. Except for the food, everything was good! After staying there for so long I knew the menu. The nurses were very professional and helpful. All the staff provided excellent care.
