We have been going to James Automotive for the last six years. We found him here on Angie's List actually...We cannot say enough about him. We take both our vehicles to him: a Nissan Altima 2002 and a Kia Sedona 2007, for basically everything including oil changes. He will work on anything car related. One year, we desperately needed new brakes for our Nissan. Instead of giving us a flat out price and charging us, he gave us three choices...and three different prices. We could get the really cheap ones for a certain price and they will last a certain amount of time, we can get the middle range quality for a certain price, or we can get the top of the line for a certain price. In my 20 years of owning a car, I have never been given this choice...Our first trip to James involved our Nissan and an oil leak. Every other mechanic told us it was unfixable and would need a new, $4000 engine. We took it to James who told us that we did not in fact need a new engine, and he corrected the problem for $700. That was six years ago, and the car will be going on 200,000 miles within the year...still running great. He is honest and hardworking. We live in Georgetown, and it is a trip to go to where his shop is all the way up on Lima, but it is so worth it.

Brought in our 2002 Dodge Ram pick-up for an oil change and also to determine the cause of the check engine light being on.
Service was performed just as requested. Issue found and repaired in only a few hours. Very professional customer service. Reasonable rates.

James is amazing! He is the most honest car guy I know. He will tell you if there is a problem you should fix on your own because it would be cheaper. He won't do work that isn't necessary and he is very prompt. I definitely recommend James Automotive.

They found that there was a lot of work that needed to be done. We left town after we left the car with him. He called me the next day and told what work needed to be done. He said that we could take the car to someone else to get another estimate on the work. That statement made me feel good. They did the work and things seemed to be working fine.

I had a broken spring. His charge was $200 less than everybody else’s. He did a good job. The following month he did some other work too. I am very satisfied with his work. I would recommend him.

James was very upfront with me about costs and time required to do the work. He took the time to explain the work to me. I felt he was interested in doing a good job, not getting my money. I went to him because the second dealer-installed axle on my Camry was going out and the dealer had never asked why this was happening. It turned out that part of the problem was poor work on the part of the dealer.

I would give them all A's and I would use them again in the future.

He figured out what my car needed, but was not able to do the work himself. He directed and helped us which way to go when he knew he couldn't do the work himself. Helped with our options.

My car was making a horrible noise. They got me in that same day. They were very attentive. I asked them to call with an estimate. They did not only that but called me a couple of times to let me know what they were doing with the car and when it would be done. I got it back the same day.

James is a professional auto repair person. He explains what he is doing and why it's necessary. James only performs work that is necessary and doesn't charge a fortune like the car dealerships. I have referred him to my son and daughter for car servicing. He is highly recommended.
