Dennis Hughes is NOT a licensed contractor in Allen County. We could never get him to show proof of insurance or bonding. I hope that this review will prevent someone from hiring this company. We hired him to redo a patio roof. The flashing around the utilities pipe was improperly done. The roofing was installed backwards and lacked the proper amount of nails. It was not connected to the house properly. The gutter was installed so that it was useless and prevented windows from opening. We tried to get him to correct the work but he always had some excuse for not doing the work. He was rude and combative and refused to bring his paperwork to prove he was licensed and insured. He yelled at me and my brother as we tried to help my mother resolve this issue. We finally had to hire someone else to completely redo it. I wish that the address for this work would not be revealed to Dennis.

Unfortunately I recommended Dishonorable Home Repairs to a friend. It appears that the work was hired out to kindergarteners. Doors are offset. Pain is all over the poorly installed hardwood floors that are already warping due to bad spacing. A brand new island was PAINTED over. Please check the Better Business Bureau website for more detailed information. Please be an informed consumer. This will be going to court.

Dennis came out to see the problem and then scheduled a time to do it. He was prompt and very pleasant. Our roof has not leaked again.

I telephoned Honorable Home Repair Dennis Hughes regarding a 1930 bungalow home that I recently purchased and wanted a remodeling estimate for the above upgrades to the property. It starting well in the living room area as removing the hardwood flooring was a physical task but with the help of Robert, that's Dennis Hughes employed helper the old flooring was removed. Dennis then began installing the 5/8 inch tongue and groove plywood subflooring in living room area meanwhile using his level, and two by four shim's to level the flooring surface and buy using a carpenter's level to ensure a level surface for the bamboo flooring. I read Mr. Hughes' reviews and he is experienced at installing new flooring, however things took a turn downward when he got into the master bedroom it's' just not level and when I got my contracter level out to show him that the flooring was not level he gave me an odd reply that the foundation must be bad, the house was inspected by a professional house inspector and I was ensured the foundation is in good condition. Now what am I supposed to do? in my humble opinion the flooring should be carefully removed and the living room, small hallway, two small bedrooms subflooring removed and carefully, and professionally level on the diagonal and level on the right angles. This subfloor must be contracter level at all angles please. I need my home as soon as possible to live in and for $4,800 dollars I want a level floor in my home! I'm not sure what more I can do to get this company to admit the subfloor (at least in the master bedroom, my bedroom) is not level and that this is unacceptable! I am not happy with Dennis regarding the installation and the correct method of shimming floor joist in a home for the installation of modern flooring.

"We have done everything the home owner has ask us to do, and then more. I don't know what else we could have done to get the job done any faster and do it right. The old house has some very cuvery walls. And the new base board is new and straight. Filling in the cracks with caulk is the only way to make it look nice"

Worst experience that I have had dealing with a contractor. I have a lengthy complaint on the BBB website. The entire exchange was not posted, they left out a couple responses. And 3 weeks after he finally agreed to refund my money, nothing. Long story short, after waiting 5 weeks, "Honorable" Home Repair replaced an existing entry door in my garage. Unfortunately, the rough opening was not properly sized. Without consulting with me first, the door was jammed into the opening and ended up not being square. To the point that the door would not close. They removed an 1/8" from the top of the door, leaving a gap at the bottom for water and critters to penetrate. Which would not pass inspection in new construction. They were also not willing to work with me on this at all. Even after I presented the installation instructions that clearly states that you must adjust the rough opening to fit the door. Then shim the bottom to square up the frame. After 9 weeks of waiting for the rest of my project to be completed, I informed them that their services were no longer needed. I then paid another contractor to replace the door. He enlarged the rough opening by 1/4" and I now have a properly sealed threshold. And the rest of the project was completed on time. Wish I would have done my due diligence on Angie's List first.

"Due to emergency lower back surgery, which the customer knew about and was willing to wait until I could do the lifting required. We even had a start date to continue the work ,but she called the week before and said her husband seen me driving my van with my helper, and was disappointed that I had not started her job. So after my visit with the doctor on Nov. 1st he gave me the ok to do nothing above 30 lbs., But upon her requested I and refunding their deposit of 1925.00. I disagree with remarks that was made and overall review."

We purchased 3 bathroom faucets & had old ones removed & new ones installed. He checked for leaks before leaving. Completed job before we talked.

Dennis and his helper did a fantastic job, They kept us informed and arrived when they said they would. The railings look great and he also replaced an outlet that was in poor shape (of course this was added to the cost which is only fair.) I would not hesitate to hire them again and have already recommend him to others.

Worker(s) arrived on time and called enough ahead of time that I could hook up hoses for rinsing gutters. Worker was on time and clarified what was needed to address our water problem in basement.

It went horrible..... I was given a date range to when the service would be complete, and it wasn't done. I called again and they said they would get it done, called again a few weeks later and it still wasn't complete. They finally did the work, but it wasn't complete. There were still issues with the roof after their repairs. I was told that those repairs weren't included in the original quote. I asked for all repairs to be completed originally, so I'm not sure why they did partial work. I will never pay for the entire job upfront again, I should have paid half and not paid the other half until I was satisfied. I think Dennis Hughes saw an opportunity to make a quick $ and took advantage of me because I live in another state and wasn't able to travel to check his work. I will never use, or recommend Honorable Home Repair again.

"The job was approved to be done as the weather allowed us to get it completed. This roof had over 27 missing shingles, and it was a hip roof which ment that it was not a walkable roof so we had to rent speacial lift to get us up to repalace the missing shingles . As you can see it was the winter when Ice and snow were a big factor as to when we could get the job completed. When we finally got a break, and the snow and ice had melted we finished the job and sent to the owner before and after pictures. And now 3months later he complains about not getting done in a timely manner . Even after sending a number of pictures, he complained about the shingles that were done before us by someone else. I will always put safety frist in my jobs, and this was one of them."

Went great. Dennis at Honorable Home Repairs was at my neighbors house replacing shingles. I went over and asked him if he had time to do the same at my house. He came over when he was finished and repaired my roof.

Dounis Hughes has been our & who to call time of trouble for a couple of years.When I call he service there if appliance and is out to our house within the hour. Her dress whatever needs to he and finished in good time. We rely on time! I have also recommend him & only friends.

Called HHR to complete a couple projects in summer of 2015. I know this is well after the fact, I just need other users to be aware. There were a ton of set backs and took weeks and months longer to complete the cabinet project. I pressed the owner on if he felt this was something he could do before he even started and he assured me he could do it. Then when the cabinet was installed, there's a noticeable line cut right through the middle of the face of the cabinet! Not what we were told or expected. As for the bathroom fan, we bought it new and it's louder than the old one. Motor sounds awful. We negotiated money off since he didn't deliver, which he agreed to. We will not use this business again, and I can't stand to see this A rating for what might be an average C or B overall. I know life happens, and if that's the case in our situation, a customer still suffered as a result.

Their was some delays in getting the cabnet back from the restoration company, but when it was finished I was able to set a date and finnaly get it installed ,but the customer was happy with the finished product at the time. The timing that the work was completed according to this complaint was 2 weeks ago. The work was completed 2 years ago for the record."

"This customer has used our services before this back in 2012 & 2013 then again in 2016. This job was also done back in January of 2016. Her drain took a larger snake to unclog so I had to go back & get a larger one. We did not charge any extra for that or to go get a bigger one."

Work was done in a timely manner and I'm satisfied with the work. Dennis' nephew called the morning the work was scheduled and said they were delayed on another job and couldn't come until Monday. Dennis called and said he would be out within a half hour and would do the work as originally scheduled.
