Because the contract was with us, the florist dumped the box from the basin to the garbage disposal and cast out the attendant that night and we got charged an extra $200 due to the damage to the hall and she also put wet flowers on the table. They were within their right to do what they did because they had no recourse with the florist and it's not worth going into court for $200. The experience with the reception hall was good. It was an old, old building and it was decorated and they were accommodating to get you in and out and that kind of stuff. We were able to bring in our caters. You are not locked in so you can control your place a lot better. They were wonderful. The time that night was wonderful.

My son and daughter-in-law chose the Masonic Temple/Freemason?s Hall ballroom
for the location of their wedding reception this January 2013.
It was built in 1930 and is very well-maintained building in downtown Fort Wayne.
The building has a grand elegance and character about it with high ceilings, rounded pillars,
wooden floors and many other fine details.
It has its own parking lot which can accommodate about 40 cars on one side of the building and
the YMCA parking lot on the other side of the building. There is even a parking lot across the
street on the Wendy?s side that is city-owned and $2 for the night.
They had the hall on Saturday night for 6 hours - 5:30 to 11:30 pm.
They were given 5 + hours before the reception for set-up and another hour after for
clean-up.
Any licensed caterer is allowed to serve in the Freemason Hall.
My son and daughter-in-law chose to have Pizza Hut Pizza from
West State and Casa?s Salad from Casa?s North, Fazoli?s rolls and Hall?s
Take the Cake. They purchased their flowers from Sam?s Club ? which were gorgeous.
Darren Sivley from Ivy Tech assisted with the buffet service. They
hired Quattro Systems as their DJ service and Licensed Bar Services for their bar service.
All were OUTSTANDING! Highly recommend each of these!
Because the headcount for the event was over 150, they were
required to have 2 guards . . . off-duty Fort Wayne police officers.
The staff at the Freemason Hall will set the tables up according to your design.
The total price for the hall and security was very reasonable for everything that is included.
I did not know whether to include the security in the "how much did you spend".
The staff is largely volunteer staff which may explain some issues
in communication. Most did try to be very accommodating. They are generally
available Wednesday thru Friday from 10 am to 5 pm for questions.
You can stop in and see the place on Saturdays when they have a reception or
other event and I am sure you will be impressed.
Because there was no event the weekend before the reception,
they even allowed us to set up on Thursday - a very nice perk.
Overall they were extremely pleased with the historic and
beautiful hall for their reception and would highly recommend it for any event.
