Hello! Our focus here at Decks and Hardwood is just that. We design and build custom decks. We also refinish and install hardwood floors. We will do fence repairs and sometimes install a fence. On occasion we have taken on some other remodeling jobs when we see a customer in need and not finding the help they deserve. But we like to stay focused on Decks and Hardwood. Horrible experience! Hired James based on some decent on line reviews. Gave him a down payment. He started nearly a month later than he had agreed to. He only worked 4 hours a day due to a full time job he never told us he had, took on other jobs and ignored ours and called off frequently for various other reasons. The framing inspection failed badly so we finally fired him. After consulting a new builder and an engineer the partially built structure had to be completely torn down. We were told some of the lumber he purchased was very unacceptable for the job and should never have been used. Even though he did basically nothing right and we had nothing built by him as per contracted he refused to return our down payment so we will be seeing him in small claims court. Have discovered he's already going through court due to his dealings with another customer. I can't stress enough that you should search further for an honest, hardworking company who knows what they're doing. I know they're out there, I now have a lovely, well made porch that is receiving a lot of compliments.
