cont... I had to hire 2 separate plumbers to fix one of the faucets Joaquin installed, and I still have problems with the other 2 faucets. Joaquin installed shelving for bar glasses. He did a poor job and the shelves (with my bar glasses) came crashing down 3 days later. Joaquin put deep scratches in my hardwood floors. He said it could be fixed by hand sanding and reapplying the stain. Joaquin used the old stain and got stain all over the shoe moulding and doors when he applied it. The job was very sloppy- there are swirl marks all over the floor. He told me to file with his insurance company- The insurance company could not honor the claim because his insurance expired. Then we made arrangements for him to pay a floor specialist to make the repairs. It has taken 2 1/2 months to agree upon these terms. Now he will not return my calls or pay the $1500 needed to make the repairs. I'm taking him to small claims court, reporting him to the BBB and Angie's List.
Description of Work: Removed wallpaper, repaired walls, painted the interior of a 3,100 sq ft home, installed tile in two bathrooms and a laundry room, installed 4 faucets, replaced 19 light fixtures, tiled a bar, bathroom and desk countertops. This contractor showed proof of insurance before beginning work on 11/1/07 but allowed it to expire. The work ended mid January 2008. They were very slow for the amount of work that had to be done. Joaquin and his crew came in and removed the furniture to begin work on the walls- they were very rough with my belongings, they ran into walls and piled heavy, bulky items on fragile items. They spilled paint on my belongings, broke items (I found the broken glass in my trash can, they admitted to breaking them and not telling me about it), mirrors, and were wasteful with materials that could have been returned for a refund- workmanship was also very sloppy. I had them repaint and patch the walls several times before the work could be considered of average quality.
