ADVANTAGE CONSTRUCTION CO

We were extremely dissatisfied with Ben Arnold, owner, and his business practices during our year and a half long construction project of adding an addition onto our home for our grandmother to move into.  Mr. Arnold came out to give us our initial estimate of both time and money and to say the least, both were extremely exaggerated.  The project time tripled as did the price of the end product.  In all fairness, we did add some additional work onto the original estimate and worked at some points via long distance but the amount of overages should not have made that much of a difference.  We as clients were made to feel bad about any changes that we discussed, lied to on multiple occasions about how certain things had to work, had to listen to profanity filled screaming matches inside of our house between Mr. Arnold and his employees, and had to have him come back multiple times to refinish items that were not done at all or not done properly.  The project is to this day not finished but we as a client came to a certain number of things that we just needed him to complete so that we did not have to work with him anymore and have contacted another contractor to finish his work.  Mr. Arnold seemed to be a sweet "talker" and felt that he could talk himself out of situations but when called upon and when pushed, he would finally back down and complete things.  With a roll of an eye and an attitude to match, which for a paying customer is hard to watch.  We contacted our lawyers firm and only got the job completed when we gave the ultimatum of court or finally just finishing what we asked him to complete of the job.  We as clients got to a point where it was hard to even have Mr. Arnold in our home because we felt so taken advantage of.  Advantage construction takes on multiple jobs at a time and we had weeks that there were no workers here and multiple times that painters/other people associated with Advantage would leave mid job, not to return.  I would never recommend this company to anyone and I am very sorry that we chose them in the first place.  There is no "advantage" for choosing this company.
The only positive thing about Advantage Construction is the workers.  Brandon and Mark worked on our home and were delightful to work with.  Without them the job would never have been completed.
