I had Ardvark inspect a home for me today. I'm so glad I did or I would have been in for a major surprise. The inspector (David) was very professional, and did a great job of explaining areas of concern. You don't always know what to expect when getting a home inspection or the level of knowledge the inspector has. David was knowledgeable, and detailed. I would recommend Ardvark to anyone in the area needing an inspection. GREAT JOB!

Inspector, David, was very nice & professional..  He spent at least 3 1/2 hours doing the inspection, so it appeared to be very thorough.  However, I'm used to an old guy with a written checklist, not a young guy with a laptop.  The inspector was required to key in so much info, I think he spent more time typing in the computer than inspecting the house!   The 30+ page report is lovely and the appliance recall email is so cute, but how much time does the inspector spend keying in the make, model & serial number of every appliance in the house?  Inspector said there was a problem with the roof, scared me because he said "he could put his foot through it".  My realtor had a top-notch roofing contractor look at it and he said it was fine, maybe needed very minor repair.  (I think maybe my inspector wasn't familiar with rubber roof sections?)

The final report didn't really give me a clear picture of which problems were really serious, and every item said to get an specialized inspector, i.e. call an electrical inspector, a plumbing inspector, a furnace inspector, etc.  I had to make a decision right away and did not have time to call 10 more inspectors.  So  I called David to see if he could help me evaluate the problems.  I left a message on his cell (he told me to call if I had any questions about the inspection).  He never called back

Not being from the area, we had to rely on our real estate agent who recommended Aardvark.  I would say that initially we thought that they had done a good job.  Justin was the inspector, and he was prompt and courteous.  In the course of the inspection, he found a few items--mostly cosmetic, but nothing major.  It was about 3 weeks before I moved into the house after the inspection, and about another 3 weeks until the family moved in.  It wasn't until later that we noticed that the downdraft didn't work.  Yes, it raised and lowered, but the fan motor was burned out.  That never showed up in the inspection, and it wasn't included on the 90 day warranty.  Really?!  So due to a less-than-thorough inspection, we were out $900 for a new downdraft fan motor.  After multiple attempts to try to get Aardvark to pick up some portion of the cost (to no avail), we just gave up.  Then just recently, as the weather turned warm, we realized the upstairs HVAC system wasn't cooling.  Had a service call, and they found that the coil was leaking refrigerant like a sieve.  I guess the previous owner had the system recharged just to get it through the home sale and the inspection.  It would have been really nice to know that the system wasn't in good condition prior to taking ownership of the house.  This $590 home inspection will actually cost us closer to $4000 in the end.  Trust me when I say that I would never use them again, and I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone either.

We needed a house inspection on a home we made a purchase offer on.  Justin Arnold was the inspector.  He was prompt, professional, and thorough.  He emailed the report (sans radon since that test takes 2 days) to me that evening.  I was present at the house for most of the time.  He explained what he was doing and more importantly, why.
I would recommend Aardvark to anyone and use them in the future if needed.

While Jon was inspecting, if he found a problem, he explained it to me and pointed out the problem. He also answered all my questions. After the inspection which started at 1 p.m., I received a detailed report on every room and the entire property by 4 p.m. that afternoon. I had a question and he answered it very promptly.

I was told the first application of treatment would take care of the problem, and I agreed to a prophylactic treatment for other pests in two months time. The second treatment did not seem to diminish the ant problem in the home, and neither did the third. On the fourth visit, the technician "Mike" said he did not know why the treatment wasn't working and apologized over and over again, but he had talked to his boss and "we'll come out every week if we have to until this is done". I called today, and talked to Mike's boss, "Joe", the owner of the company. I said that I still had a problem with ants dropping into my fishtank, toddler's plate, and visitors coffee cup even after repeated treatments, and that I felt that these treatments were not working, and either a new treatment needed to be used or I wanted a refund of the money I had already paid the compant. "Joe" was EXTREMELY rude in telling me that I could certainly ASK for a refund since my services were not met, but I could NOT DEMAND a refund. I have no problem supplying the recording I made of the conversation. Your Desired Resolution: All I want is a refund of the original payment made, so I can hire another pest control company that is more competent. I believe I paid Aardvark $210.00, and will find the paperwork to prove it.

They were quick, professional and thorough. We saw a spider or 2 about a month later and they completely resprayed for $35. It would have been free if we'd seen them earlier. We didn't have any problems with spiders last year and I was so relieved. We will definitely call them again this fall.

The inspector and his assistant phoned ahead to ask if an early arrival was acceptable, which it was. They asked if they should remove their shoes (thanks!) During the inspection, they offered information as to what they were looking for, and were happy to answer questions. Prompt and professional.

Job 1: They didn't get it all the first time and came back the next day to finish clearing the bees away. They came out within hours of our phone call. They were very fast. Job 2: We called Aardvark on 3/5/07 in the afternoon, he said he could be there at 1:00 the next afternoon. He said it would be $125.00 with no contract. When he got there he remembered he had been to our house in 2006 to get rid of some bees for us, I had also referred him to our church for a bee problem so he gave us a $25.00 discount. He found the ant nest under the sink and sprayed then offered to spray the rest of the house if we wanted. He told us the cost on the phone was there when he said gave us a discount and was very professional. We haven't seen ants since.
