April 26, 2014 My sister and I met with Nicole Stodghill at
Monumental Memories *(formally of Evansville, Indiana, now doing business as
Stodghill Monuments and Lawn Décor in Fort Branch, Indiana). On this day we
chose the type of stone, the size, and the color. Nicole Stodghill created a
draft of the monument design using software on her laptop computer. Nicole
Stodghill showed me and my sister the production area that she would etch the
stone. She indicated that they would order the stone and do the etching in
house. We paid in full $3138.62. It was my understanding that she would order
the stone then.  I told her that I would
email the photos to her once we had decided what photos we would like to be
etched on the stone. She would then update the proof of the design and email it
to me for my family?s approval. She also stated that she would contact the
funeral home and obtain a copy of Dad?s DD214 military papers and order a bronze
marker from the government and that they would set it in front on the monument
at the base.
June 25, 2014 I sent an email to Nicole Stodghill with the
photos that we had chosen to be etched on the stone. I requested that she send
me a confirmation that she received the photos. NO RESPONSE
I called and emailed Nicole Stodghill several more times
with no response.
July 22, 2014 Called Monumental Memories* at 9:23am and left
a message requesting a return call. Nicole Stodghill did call back and I missed
the call.
July 23, 2014 I emailed Nicole Stodghill at 9:18am and
apologized for missing her call. I stated that I would like to know the status
of the monument. I had not received a proof of the monument design and I had
sent the photos over three weeks prior. I informed her that I would call her at
my lunch or after 4pm. Called Monumental Memories* at 4:18pm and left a message
requesting a return call. NO RESPONSE
July 24, 2014 Called Monumental Memories* at 2:22pm and left
a message requesting a return call.  NO RESPONSE
August 4, 2014 Called Monumental Memories* at 9:05am and
left a message requesting a return call. I sent an email to Nicole Stodghill
stating that I had called and left a voice mail message on the business line,
but the machine stopped before I finished so I was not sure that she had
received the message. I asked her to please give me a call on my cell phone.
August 5, 2014 Received an email from Nicole Stodghill
stating, ?Just wanted to get back to you. [sic] 
I have not received the proof as of yet but am in contact with them and
will forward when I can. If you need further assistance please feel free to
call my cell. I am currently not receiving messages from our phone
000-000-0000?
I then called Nicole Stodghill on her cell phone. She stated
that the problem was with the picture that I submitted. It was a picture of my
dad, me, and my sisters sitting on Santa?s lap. We wanted Santa cropped out of
the photo. She claimed that they were having trouble cropping out Santa. 
After I thought more about this phone call, I responded by
email the following: ?When are they expecting to have it? I looked at the photo
and I cannot see what the problem is. I do photo editing as a hobby, and I am
unsure why a professional is having a problem with this. It is a simple fix. I
originally sent you the photos on June 25. I was in your office on June 24 and
you told me that it would take about one week to get the proof and then about
three weeks to get it set. Tomorrow it will be seven weeks and I have not
received the proof. I am sure that you can understand my frustration. I have
paid for this monument in full and I took you at your word on the schedule to
have it set. I feel that I have been very patient, but now I just feel as
though I am getting the run around. I would like to know what is going on.?
Later that day I received an email with the first proof
attached that she just happened to receive by email that day. I advised her
that I would review it with my family and respond to her the next day, which I
did.
August 6, 2014 I received an email from Nicole Stodghill
including the updated proof with the changes requested by me and my family. I
responded to her that I would confirm with my family and get back to her.
August 7, 2014 I emailed Nicole Stodghill that we approved
of the proof and asked her to please submit for production. At this time I also
asked her if she was able to obtain the military papers needed to order the
bronze marker (which she had told me that she would do in April at our first
visit.) And also asked for a time-frame that she expected the monument could be
set. Again, NO RESPONSE
Monday August 25, 2014 Called Monumental Memories* at 9:24am
and left message requesting a return call. Called Nicole Stodghill Stodghill?s
cell phone at 9:26am and left a message for a return call. NO RESPONSE
September 11, 2014 I emailed Nicole Stodghill requesting the
status of the monument and the military placard. NO RESPONSEOctober 7, 2014 I
sent the following email to Nicole Stodghill.
?I am again trying to reach you to get the status of my
father?s monument and the military placard. I am copying Stodghill Funeral Home
as well. If this is not a good email for Monumental Memories please send me the
correct email. I would like to know if we are on schedule with the monument and
if the military placard was ordered or not. If it was ordered, what was the
estimated time frame for delivery? If not, what is the hold up? If the stone is
delivered on schedule by October 15 from Tecstone, what would be the estimated
date that it would be set?I am EXTREMELY frustrated and unhappy with the
customer service of your company. We originally met and I paid for this
monument in late April I believe (I will have to look at my records to be
sure). I then submitted the pictures to be etched on the stone on June 26,
which at that time I asked for and could not get a response that the email and
pictures were received.  I have sent
numerous emails that have not been responded to. The order was not submitted to
Tecstone until July 18. After numerous email attempts and calls--leaving
messages most of the time?to get the status of the order the final approval was
not sent to Tecstone until August 14. I contacted TecStone myself and the stone
is now ready and waiting to be shipped. I am waiting on a call from them for a
shipping date.You also told me that you would reach out to Jeannie at Browning
Funeral home to obtain the military papers and get the military placard
ordered?this was in April I believe when the stone was paid for. As far as I
know?because I cannot get a response?is that it has still not been ordered.

I received a response from Andrea at Stodghill Funeral home
that she had contacted Nicole Stodghill and she would be getting back with me. I
later received the following response from Nicole Stodghill: ?Natalie I am
waiting on a call back from tecstone regaurding [sic] the shipment.  Their shipping department is out to lunch.
Who did you speak with at tecstone so I can talk to them. [sic] They were
supposed to ship your fathers [sic] stone last Thursday. The bronze marker has
been ordered. The government doesn?t give out Eta's on those. It did take while
[sic] for the ordering proc
