I arrived on very late on 02/01/09 upon checking into my room and preparing for bed I went to turn on the HVAC in the room and noticed it was covered in dust and what appeared to be mold. I left it off and went to bed. Next morning I asked the front desk to have it cleaned and watched the clerk enter the complaint into the computer along with my thoughts that there was mold present. She assured me it would be cleaned. Late that night when returning to the room the HVAC was not cleaned. I tried to call the desk but got no answer. I left it off and went to bed. The second morning I again asked the clerk to have the unit cleaned. I returned in the afternoon before 6PM and spoke to the clerk who assured me the unit was clean. I asked for my two nights to be free due to the dirty unit. The clerk said she could give me one night otherwise I would have to speak to the manger. I asked for the manager to call and she did. She refused to give me two days but offered to reduce my bill by $10.00 per night for the issue. Her reasoning for not offering two free nights was that the unit did not have mold. I asked her what test did she perform to show it was or was not mold. She just restated it was not mold and the $10.00 per night was all she was willing to offer. I agreed to her offer. Upon check out I found out the manager's offer had changed to $10.00 off for one night. When I spoke to her via phone she was rude and condescending. I asked to speak to her manager at corporate. The next manager could not do anything while I was on property and implied there might be a remedy after checking out. Once checked out I called corporate and they said other than filing a complaint with the hotel there was nothing they can do. I want my $10.00 per night ($60.00 total) refund as agreed to and not the $10.00 given.
