It went very well.  Mike came out and measured my patio and gave me a price and had the stone delivered in about a week.  He was very professional and the stone is beautiful.  It is the Tuscany pattern which is beige with shades of gray and brown.  We are very pleased with the way our patio turned out.

I reached out to Mike Akin, Owner, after we had paid $150 for landscape design job that was unsatisfactory.  His designer quit and did not complete what was promised to us.  When I reached out to Mike Akin in January (4 months after we initially started the project), he suggested I email him in March to schedule an appt.  I followed up in the first part of March via email and requested that we schedule a time that he could come to our home and look at our yard and the drawing and complete the work.  He replied and told us that we need to come to him with pictures of our house and that he would be in his office starting on March 26th.  When I responded and explained my poor experience and their lack of customer service, and I thought the right way to fix the issue was to meet us at our home,  he responded that he had offered to help,  and he couldn't understand why he received a "multi-paragraph tirade." In reality I was simply explaining my experience, because he had never asked.   I felt that it would make more sense for him to come to our home, just a few miles away, especially since he had never seen it.    I didn't feel that requesting a landscape design company to come to our home to see what had been done and not done was too much to ask, in fact I believe it was the least he could do.  After I received his unprofessional and disrespectful email, I responded and declined his offer to work together any further due to the unpleasant and rude response. I shouldn't have to pay $150 for uncompleted work and sheer rudeness.    I informed him that expect at the very least a partial refund and asked when I could pick up the check.     Mr. Akin failed to respond any further.  Therefore, when I was in the area, I stopped in to continue to conversation with Mr. Akin, since he would not respond to my email.  Not surprisingly he was rude again. He asked me to again go out of my way to come back with pictures and the drawings if he wanted him to "Warranty" the work that was done. I responded and said I do not feel like I need to be inconvenienced again when he has never even apologized for the situation nor offered to drive the few miles to my home to rectify the situation and I had come to him 3 times already.  I also asked how he planned on doing a landscaped design without seeing my yard.   His response was "Ma'am I do it all the time, I know what grows in Indiana, I can do it from my desk."  When asked why he didn't respond to my email, he said "I have 60 emails in my inbox right now, would you like to see."  That was another clear cut example of the way he feels is an acceptable way to treat customers and the importance he puts on their needs.  We will NEVER use Season's Garden's again.  Mr. Akin lost several thousands of dollars worth of business. He fails to realize how important customer referrals can be in a very competitive market.  I have never asked for any more than I was entitled to based on what was promised as a result of my payment for the service.  I have not received a refund nor even a mere apology for the repeated poor customer service and lack of outcomes.

The reason we liked them was because they were really helpful. They had a large selection of plants. They were very knowledgeable.

The company was impersonal and provided an email advising me to come in to meet with someone if I wanted to contract with them for service. I ended up just skipping this company because I didn't have the time to come to them to get the work done.

We came for the bush and tree after confirming that they had what we were looking for. They came down on the price of the hydrangea because it was the last in their inventory and it had a couple broken branches. When we went for the tree, there were 10 in stock, so we had a good selection. Both times, we were given full attention and help in selection and loading of the items. We were given good directions for planting. Both are flourishing.

I asked Akin to open up my pond for the summer in April of this year. They came out, performed the work and did a good job. We were selling our home and moving to the east coast. I did not receive a bill for several months. When it finally arrived the amount charged was 150% of what they suggested would be the amount for a pond of this size. I contacted the company and received a very curt response with a threat to take me to small claims court if I did not submit payment within 10 days. Since I did not have a written estimate I had no recourse but to submit the payment. Needless to say, I was not please with Mr. Akin's response to me. It seemed like a perfect bait and switch approach. While their work was very good, I do not appreciate the way they treated me regarding the payment.

Seasons Gardens did an excellent job with respect to our waterfall and initial landscaping. Follow-up has been less than satisfactory. A dogwood tree died and they were informed in the summer and even checked it out. They visited us in the fall again to quote on other work we wanted done. Despite two phone calls to them, they never replaced the dogwood tree nor started on the work that we asked them to do per their quote. We don't think the customer should have to follow up to this extent. And despite the great work they did, follow-up has been an issue in the past.

FUNNY... JUST PURCHASED TREES FROM GEIST NURSERY ON MOLLENKOPF ROAD WHO GUARANTEE THEIR TREES 100% FOR A YEAR IF YOU PLANT THEM AND 2 YEARS IF THEY PLANT THEM. SO SEASON'S PRODUCT GUARANTEE IS FAR FROM INLINE WITH WHAT OTHER LOCAL COMPANIES PROVIDE. WE HAVE ALSO FOUND SINCE THAT SIMILAR SIZE TREES CAN BE PURCHASED FOR LESS THAN 1/2 THE COST AT LOWE'S.
Response from Seasons Gardens By Michael Akin
"THIS MEMBER WAS AWARE OF OUR WARRANTY WHEN HE PURCHASED THE PLANT MATERIAL.. IT IS ALSO WRITTEN ON HIS RECIEPT. YOU WILL FIND IF YOU RESEARCH OUR WARRANTY THAT WE ARE RIGHT IN LINE WITH A MAJORITY OF THE OTHER NURSERIES HERE AND AROUND THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. SELDOM ARE TWO TREES LOST IN THE SAME YARD IF THEY ARE PLANTED AND MAINTAINED PROPERLY.IT IS NOT A QUESTION OF GUARANTEEING THE PLANT MATERIAL, IT IS A QUESTION AS TO THE QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP THAT A HOMEOWNER MAY OR MAY NOT PUT INTO THE PLANTING OF OUR MATERIAL AND THEIR SIGHT SELECTION, SOIL CONDITIONS AND MAINTAINANCE OF THAT PLANTING. WE ALSO HAVE A 2 YR WARRANTY IF WE PLANT THE TREE. WE HAVE THOUSANDS OF CLIENTS THAT STAY WITH US BECAUSE OF HOW WELL WE TAKE CARE OF THEM AND HOW FAIR WE ARE. WARRANTY IS A FUNCTION OF PRICE. I ASSUME THE CLIENT FOUND THE FIRST NURSERY AT THE SAME OR HIGHER PRICE AND THAT YOU OF COURSE WOULD FIND LITTLE OR NO EXPERTISE OR ADVISE AT ANY GARDEN STORE AND THEREFORE THEY CAN CUT THEIR PRICE."
