Overall we like our home, however, we experienced several issues. Most were resolved by the subcontractors. However, we have one issue with our master bathroom shower that has been ongoing and we are at a loss as to how to motivate them to finally fix the issue. Within 2 months or less of moving into this brand new home, the caulking in the master bath shower began to crack and peel away from the tile. We contacted Pulte and their subcontractor ICC Floors came out to re-install the caulk. Within a matter of weeks the caulk once again peeled off the tile. They came back 2 or 3 more times making small adjustments but basically doing the same thing. Finally they came back and installed a silicone caulk, assuring us that this would work more effectively. The silicone looked horrible, they left silicone residue streaked on the shower walls and shower floor and within 2 weeks it was peeling off again. The Pulte Customer Service Rep agreed it looked terrible and held a meeting with the owner of ICC Floor's owner at our home. They agreed to repair it again, this time using the original caulk and a silicone overlay. The job looked terrible, but we decided we would let it go if the caulk actually stuck to the tile. Within less than a month it was again peeling off the tile all the way around the shower floor and up the corners of the shower. We have asked them to try a different color/product, but so far they have refused. We have also asked them to consider that there may be a problem with the tile, but they have refused this possibility. I have contacted another tile expert that said that if they used a quality product and if it was installed properly there is no way it should be peeling off the tile (especially the silicone). We are under a 2 year warranty with Pulte. All we want is a final fix to this issue and proof that there has been no residual damange to the wall and floor behind the tile due to the faulty caulk. Some of our frustration is also due to the fact that it often takes days or weeks for them to respond to an issue. Even when they tell you they will respond by a certain time, the rarely follow-up by the agreed upon date.
