Kinetico Quality Water Systems

If I could give “0” stars, I would. These folks sold me a multi-thousand dollar system some years ago, and assured me that it would “last a lifetime”. First, it did not work as well as it should have to begin with, and then when it did not work, they sold me more stuff (chlorine pellet dropper with chlorine tank inside to take it out) which also did not work long term. This last week it stopped running altogether and then they made me wait to have them look at the system, because only they can look at it. They made my family wait all afternoon because they said they would be here between 1-5pm. They did not show up. At 5pm I called, and they were closed already. The next morning I called, and later in the day they said that the team who had come out had come to the wrong house. After all of this, when they finally go to my house, they made me pay them another $139 just to tell me that everything I had been sold was just junk, and tried to sell me on another multi thousand dollar system! They had sent direct to me a “get your system checked for $1 coupon” in the mail, and when I presented that to them, they said “that does not apply here, you still have to pay the $139 because that is only for sales! All of that to tell me what they sold me is junk now! I was previously told by their office when I first called that they had records of what I had purchased and that the “media” could be changed in my system - but when they came out, they said that the person who spoke with me from the office was incorrect and that my media could not be changed. I reminded them that I had been informed that the system was supposed to last “a lifetime”, and they responded (they actually said this to me), “back when you got your system, we had some people who did not tell the customers correct information”!!!!!!!!! Now, after all of this, you would think that they would offer some sort of alternative - like giving me a discount or working to get me a used system which would be longer lasting - but no - the only option was to start over from scratch and spend many thousands of dollars more. My anger is only diminished by the shame I feel at letting these weasels take advantage of me like this. I recommend that nobody get Kinetico systems. I recommend that anyone considering Kinetico systems simply go to another alternative - there are many around. Any of the alternative companies will be better and more truthful in the long run. Do not be fooled by the line that if it is more expensive, it must be the best. Hogwash. I am the prime example of how Kinetico does not take care of their customers. not good, partly my fault. Allowed to be taken advantage of by sales person. Water softener needed to be replaced. They talked about removing it and cutting pipes until it could be fixed or I could buy new one. I was only given choice for top model. I was concerned about plumbing, so I agreed to replace softener. Salesman only offered premium softener and did not offer up other, less expensive softeners. I should have researched more but felt pressured. Felt that I was not given all available options but I did not ask either. Their brand was the current one I had. My advice to other single women is to not feel pressured into buying, get three estimates before buying. I have always done this in the past. Usually, I listen and talk with the service men before buying. However, the district manager was with the service man doing an evaluation, so I do not feel service man could honestly talk with me because manager wanted to sell. Instillation went well, however, I had a few problems with the system and office managers were not helpful on the phone. It was a horrible experience in my book, but again I was worried and felt pressured.

For the $2400 price, I expect the softener to provide more than 5 1/2 years of service. The claim seems absurd that even though the concentration of chlorine was quite low, it still caused the resin to fail and that the system needs a chlorine filter; moreover even if the claim is valid, that point should have been made at the time of the original purchase. I am having the Kinetico softener removed and I'll spend the $1024 on a more reliable brand

We had no experience with water softeners before moving to Indiana. There sales person gave us useful information and the installation went well. We have had the machine for nearly a year and we are very pleased.

Purchased drinking water system, having trouble with low to no water pressure, have reached out to several times to Avon store and corporate, on phone and in person, there response was, they did come out replace it, but now it is not working after 6 months. All they care about is the sale. I have nothing but issues with them since. I would not recommend this company.

They were very nice and they did a great job.

They installed it about 12 years. He did a good job. He was courteous and professional. He gave me specific info about what was wrong with my system. He delivered 12 bags of salt and changed the filter. The price was very good and he got there on time.
