Initially, Andy Romens and Joe Tamanini of Fishers Painting were responsive, professional, punctual, and we were very happy with the quote they offered. Correspondence was quick and thorough. Work began soon after the quote was accepted. Andy and Joe showed up when they said they would, completed the job quickly, and always provided an update on progress. The quote for the bathroom painting shows $325 + $45/hour to remove the wallpaper. The final invoice for the bathroom portion was $1,045 - claiming that it took 16 hours to remove wallpaper from 11.5' x 5' bathroom. The quote for the bathroom "vanities" shows $649. The custom paint for the vanities was subcontracted Fishers Vintage Revival. The vanities were taken offsite but we were kept up-to-date on the progress with pictures and communication. The vanities were brought back to our home intact and beautifully painted. The final invoice for the vanities was $1,298 - which was double what we had expected. The total final invoice of $2,343 was paid in full. We questioned Andy Romens about the accuracy of the final invoice on April 29th, 2014. We felt mislead by the vanity quote and wondered about the accuracy of the 16 hours to remove wallpaper. We never asked for a refund only an explanation and some understanding that we felt slided. We had planned to hire Fishers Painting to paint the rest of our home (they were well aware and had already supplied a quote) - as we were under renovation. This discrepancy made us uneasy to proceed. Andy agreed that the quote was misleading and perhaps the final invoice miscalculated. Andy offered a refund or credit of $850. May 14th we were in contact with Andy Romens via text message and asked for a refund so we could start fresh. Between May 14th and July 3rd we continued to be in contact with Andy asking when the refund would be issued. We got many excuses and were told we'd be contacted later. Since July 3rd, 2014 Andy Romens and Joe Tamanini refuse to answer phone calls and texts and we have yet to receive our refund. They now have stated that they will not refund the money. We are happy to pay for services rendered. If the quote was an honest mistake - they should have better explained the situation and/or offered something else that was fair to us both. But to recognize a misquote, offer a refund, then to refuse to supply it is poor reflection of their professionalism and overall service.

Response from FISHERS PAINTING
The initial estimate detailed that multiple types of wallpaper and border were present and that unforeseen wall repairs may be hidden and would be repaired as encountered with an hourly rate quoted. Additionally, the estimate and accompanying email message indicated that each item was listed separately so she could choose what she would like done in each room.
