It was hard to get hold of Steve to schedule the work, requiring many phones calls. And much harder after the work was done and there were problems. Multiple boards warped significantly and the the 6X6 posts for the gates started splitting almost immediately. After many many many phone calls over a period of months, Steve did come out and replace 6 boards maximum. He advised me to select the worst ones and accept the rest. At that time Steve said it was normal for the boards to warp, and normal for the posts to split and the posts should be fine, shouldn't affect their functionality. Two years later the 6X6 boards are split more than halfway through, and they are loose in the ground, making it difficult to open and close the gates. I have been trying now for about 3 weeks to get Steve to return a call. I have left many phone messages and emails. He has not once returned a call or email. I requested that he look at the 6X6 posts and stabilize or replace them. His not bothering to return a phone call or email is extremely frustrating and seems like he is avoiding taking responsibility, when it's no longer about making money on a new job.

Show up on time . set fence post first . Let them set up for 5 days . then he installed the fence . He did a rille good job we are happy with the job he did. And the price was good. he knows what he is doing. And if I ever need a fence Agin I call him back with no problem you can not go wrong calling him

Steve is the epitome of professionalism. He met us at the house to provide his estimate of the work and traveled to our apartment to sign the contract. Steve began work promptly at 8am on September 8th, as agreed upon. He worked by himself, tearing down the entire fence in two days! By day three, all of the new post holes were dug out, concrete was poured and posts installed. Steve continued erecting the new fence on Friday while it rained off and on. I sincerely believe he would have completed the work in four days, but for the weather. As it was, it only took an extra morning. We are extremely pleased with the craftsmanship and work ethic. We would hire Steve in a second, and highly recommend Fence Express!

The price was much lower than other estimates that we received and everything looks great! He was also very efficient, professional, and willing to work with some difficulties we had with the Homeowner's Association. Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely use again.

It went very well. They got it done quickly and did a nice job. They are easy to talk to and work with.

The guy was a beast! In a good way!  We were not living at the house yet but he met me there in the late afternoon and went over the area I marked for him, and helped me make decisions on what type of fence would fit in my budget, and what size gate would work best for mowing equipment.
The part that impressed me the most was that as soon as the deposit check cleared, he was calling me to let me know he could start the following monday.  He did not need access in the house, so my presence would not be required.
I did stop by after work on monday, but since it was well below freezing that day I was shocked to see he was just packing up after putting in the posts by himself.  I did not even expect there  would be anythig doon because of the cold.  Two days later, I went back after work, and found he had already finished the job and was gone.

Fence Express installed a 4ft cedar fence on one side of our yard and closed off the other. I found them on Angie’s List and asked for a quote as well as 2 other companies. Steve was the last one we contacted, but the first to come out. I was impressed with how quickly he was able to come and the price was even more impressive. We got 2 other estimates and Fence Express was $1k cheaper and could start the work the following week while the others were 2-4+ weeks out. The work was completed in a timely fashion and we couldn’t be happier. I was initially skeptical because the price was so reasonable, but Fence Express exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship is excellent and they did a great job cleaning up. Even the gate hardware exceeded my expectations. Fence Express did a great job and I would hire them again! My only regret was wasting a week waiting for their competitors to give us a quote.

Came in and pleasant, professional. Took measurements and gave reasonable estimate, hired on the spot. Started when he said. Worked hard (and in the hot sun)! Very, very nice job, professional, kind, and conscientious. Very kind also with my ill mother. She passed in October.

Steve from Fence Express installed the posts and fence all by himself and did it over a period of three days. He arrived on a Saturday to set the posts and returned Monday to finish setting one more post and installed half of the fencing. The next day he completed the job and it looks great. He installed the fence EXACTLY where we asked him to and the price was approximately $500 less than the lowest bid we received from four other fence companies. But the best part is that we needed the fence installed ASAP and he was able to do it right away. Other companies wanted us to wait 2-4 weeks.
Fence Express provided us with a good quality fence at a fair price and in a very reasonable time. In addition, there is a 15 year warranty on parts and labor. It was an all-around good experience with this provider.

Very professional . Did excellent work. Wrote a very detailed estimate. Came when he said he would start. Work to remove the existing fence started on a Thursday. Steve showed up each day, worked alone, worked very hard all day, and was done by Tuesday. We are very happy with his work. His bid was a better price than his competitors. He helped us save money by suggesting 7' along the back and 6' everywhere else

He was totally professional and pleasant. He gave me a detailed written bid. He kept his commitment when he said it would take two days. He set the date, he came and was well organized. He worked neatly and used a level to make sure the posts were straight. He planned ahead and knew exactly how many posts he would need. He also had exactly the right tools and everything he needed. He cemented the posts deeply and very well. He also made sure that as he took posts out, he collected every single nail. He cleared all the debris, when he left there was no cleanup for me to do.
All the way through he was nice and had a very pleasant personality. He even gave me an eight year warranty, which had been included in the quote. I would recommend him to anyone.

I contacted Fence Express after business hours. The next day, they returned my call and set up an appointment for an estimate the following day. Steve was on time and very professional. He emailed me the full estimate for both the repair work and an estimate for replacing the existing fence with additional custom gates and a garden enclosure in my choice of three materials. He was able to do the repairs that week in under two hours, and we will have Fence Express replace the entire fence once our HOA approves the plans.

They were excellent craftsman. They only took 2 days with a total of 6 hours of work. They only had one worker come out and do all the work. This worker did the fence board by board instead of buying the paneling sections. He had a great attention to detail. I would give them a AAA if I could. They were not persistent, and I would use them again in the future. Their pricing was very reasonable.

They did an excellent job. The price was reasonable. He worked very fast, and I could tell that he worked hard the entire time he was here. He went out of his way to put up my hose brackets for me.

Steve cut corners by not securing the newly installed fence to the neighbors old fence. Steve also installed a few warped post which is making the fence bow. Steve offers an 8 year warranty on his fence, but the warranty is very limited (buyer beware). 2 weeks after the fence was installed we had a storm blow through the area. The fence where it connects to the neighbors old fence became seperated. Steve just ran a few nails into the panels of the connecting fences, instead of securing them to a post. I called Steve to have him look at the damage, Steve shows up un annouced at my house to look at the damage and proceeds to tell me, he can't be responsible for the damage. After negotiating (begging) with Steve to fix the problem he agrred to fix it at no charge. I guess talk is cheap, because after numerous attempts to contact Steve to see when he was going to repair the fence, my calls were ignored. It is now November and Steve has yet to contact me back. I went ahead and paid someone else to repair the fence correctly, with a post securing the new panel to the neighbors panel, which is how the fence should have been constructed in the first place. Steve just pulled a disapeering act.

I called Fence Express about 10 am . Three sections of our privacy fence had blown down , the posts had snapped at the cement footings.
I left a message for him about the work we needed. He returned my call in less than an hour . He was at our house an hour later to see the fence and give us an estimate. The estimate was fair and I asked him if the price included the materials and leaving our yard looking as if nothing had happened. Yes it included everything.
Within the next 2 days, the underground utilities had been out to mark our yard for electric, etc. (Steve had called them) The next day Steve showed up , took out the damaged sections,Set the posts in cement, hauled away all the trash and even arranged old fencing around the opening so our dog could still roam the yard. The next day Steve put up the new fence and left our backyard looking like he was never there, except for the new fencing.
The work was done quickly,professionally, and with no mess.The fence looks great. Thank you Fence Express!

It was great. He is an extremely hard worker and gave me a lot of different options on the type of fence which helped me get a better fence. He is very skilled and professional.

He offered the best price of all the companies I contacted. He did an excellent job. He went above and beyond what he needed to do. He was courteous and professional.

I called Steve Zander and he gave me a $100 estimate over the phone to reseat three "loose" fence posts. I trusted this since he had done work elsewhere on our fence earlier in the year. He came out two days later and replaced the three posts when he found them to be needing replacement, not just reseating. He braced the replaced posts to let the cement dry overnight, but came back two days later after e-mailing me that due to the extra cold weather, it would be better to give them another day to cure before the braces were removed. I was not home to pay him that day, so he gave me the final price of new posts plus tax as $125 in an e-mail. I mailed him the check that day, and informed him of that in an e-mail. He responded with another appreciative e-mail.
