He later told me that the pc needed a new screen. Then for several months he said he could not locate a screen for it. I did a Google search and in 10 minutes I found a screen and e-mailed the sites to him. He said these were used screens and would not work. The web site clearly stated the screens were new.
In January, still with no repair or pc, I told him that I wanted my pc so I could get a 2nd opinion. He then wanted to sell me a used and rough looking pc for $350 and he would keep My pc. I declined and said that I will take my pc elsewhere. The pc that he gave me was not mine. Since I only saw the back of the pc, I did not realize it was not mine until I returned home. When I returned to CompUtopia, he denied that he gave me the wrong pc. I showed him that my pc, as evidenced by the original box which I brought and corresponding serial number, does not match the serial number of the pc that he gave me. Further showed him that my pc does not utilize a stylus or have a touch screen as the pc which he gave me did. For 5 minutes he said I was wrong. He then connected a device to the pc and read the information. He then agreed that he gave me someone elses pc. I asked where was my pc. He said he would check with his technician and contact me tomorrow. He never called or e-mailed me and of course ignored my calls and e-mails.
On February 6, 2012, I e-mailed Charles Han that I would arrive the following day to get my pc and refund. If he could not produce my pc, then I wanted $600 to replace my pc (that he apparently lost) and to refund the $133.46 that I already paid for the repair he never made. Again no reply. When I arrived on February 7, 2012, I found the office/business COMPLETELY empty. He Closed the business Without notice. He replied to one e-mail on February 7th stating....."I delivery your laptop." I immediately replied asking where and when. Since February 7, 2012 he has again not replied to any of my voice mails or e-mails.
RESULT: As of February 7, 2012, CompUtopia closed its business WITHOUT NOTICE. So after 7 months, they still have my pc. Charles Han will not return my pc or give me a refund for the work I paid for. His repair did not correct the problem. Since Charles does not return phone calls or e-mails, I have had to visit CompUtopia about 8 times over these 7 months. He was rarely there and the employees barely spoke English, so getting information was impossible. I expect that he lost my pc, hence the reason for not producing it, then delaying the repair, and then trying sell me a used pc which would include K eeping my pc, that he did not have in his possession. I view this as Deception and Theft and will be filing a police report on Charles Han and CompUtopia since they have my pc (or have lost it), have closed the business, and will not return my pc or return my phone calls or e-mails.
My original visit to CompUtopia in 2010 was fine. The repair was for another pc. A guy named Jonathon quickly and accurately repaired it. Jonathon has left and I believe Charles is the owner. I strongly suggest avoiding CompUtopia and Charles Han. Charles Han also gave me his business card with a name of K&A Computer Technology Consultants. The address shows it is located at 8949 East Washington Street. There is not a business or address on that block.
