A business is known by the quality of its employees and whether or not management cares about that. This company employs one of the most debased, disgusting persons I've ever encountered in my long (he refers to me as "Old F***" because I'm a senior) life. I've lived too near him for several years. Demented, feral, and probably high or otherwise intoxicated much of his waking hours. Long story short, this guy is allowed to represent this company by driving one of their box trucks, and to keep and use it when he's off the clock. I'm trying to improve my property value and many of us around here are trying to improve our neighborhood - why a lot of us use contractors from this site, right? - and this employee, a slumlord tenant, lives in an eyesore property with a pack of stoners; their cars and trucks parked illegally on the tiny front yard has been the main complaint among myself and other neighbors. I called the police about Capitol's huge Chevy 4500 box truck wedged between the house and extending over the sidewalk. The cop let this guy move it, then after the cop left, he came over and banged on my door and yelled at me. I told him to leave, he refused, then I made the mistake of opening the door. I was assaulted and battered. I sent a photo of the truck and a brief question to Lauren Kriner, Vice President of Business Development. No reply. Then I called and wound up speaking to Kevin Schott, Director of Construction. He was extremely reticent and unfriendly. Finally, after lengthy interrogation, he admitted, very angrily, that he'd seen the email and spoken to the employee. All he would do was argue and evade any and all responsibility for who works there, what their character is, or how they represent the company, even when they're in possession of what's basically a big mobile billboard for Capitol Construction. I get the impression that this company lack ethics and basic morality. Mind you, I've dealt with a lot of contractors, and I've seen the gamut from shysters to pros. And I've also told other businesses when I've spotted their employees doing something wrong - visiting a dope dealer in a company vehicle, for example. Reputable companies respond as one would expect, by listening, acknowledging, and taking due responsibility. The opposite happened in my experience with Capitol. And sure enough, they're not registered with Central Indiana BBB either.
