The water system is good, the guy seems to be in a hurry and that's the only problem but he is still working. They did not do what they promised to do.

Technician came out for annual water check, maintenance, and sanitization of our softener system. System is 2 years old and has ran flawlessly. Technician was friendly, professional, and thorough. He answered the questions I had. Great job!

The installer arrived on time and did his work neatly and efficiently. He appeared to be knowledgeable and experienced and relieved my apprehension about drilling into a new granite countertop.

Very well. The technician called to say he was on the way and arrived on schedule. He promptly assessed the problem and removed the leaking filer system. Excellent. Professional and very easy to work with.

It was wonderful. I had a lot of salt in my old tank and they didn't want to hook up the new system until that was gone. A couple of months later I called them and they came right back out with a couple bags of salt and hooked up the new system. There were no additional charges for that.

Issue with install, not able to complete on original install date, had to return to complete and was charged a service fee for return
Response from Aqua Systems
"We have researched the additional charges on this account. Upon arriving to the home, the water softener rough-in was not properly set up. The return charge is our standard fee for building the drain correctly for the water softener. This will ensure that the water softener is installed to code. No additional service fees were charged."

TERRIBLE - DO NOT USE THESE GUYS - OUR BASEMENT FLOODED DUE TO UNIT AND THEY ARE NOT ASSUMING LIABILITY OF A FLAWED INSPECTION MAINTENANCE APPOINTMENT COSTING US $4250 IN REPAIRS, A UNUSABLE BASEMENT, SEVERAL RUINED ITEMS AND LOADS OF HEADACHES. We contacted Aqua Systems days after buying our recently renovated dream home that had an Aqua System softener in the basement. When I spoke to the scheduler I described our situation as new homeowners with an older Aqua Systems water softener that was bypassed and unplugged upon move-in. Further I stated that we don't know if it works, is broken, needs replaced, etc. and would like for someone to come over to inspect, put into service if working properly or quote a replacement. Bill Massey arrived out our home on Friday to inspect and start the machine up. He spun the knob a few times, flooded the brine tank and minimally inspected the unit stating that everything appeared to be working property. However, he made a fatal mistake of not testing the failsafe systems that would prevent flooding. Lastly, I asked his opinion of the unit and potentially replacing now to which he stated that these older units were better built and we probably at least 5 more years of use. Days later, after not stepping foot in our basement since Bill's visit, I went downstairs to find that our brand new carpet was soaking wet, our baseboards were buckling and the drywall had swollen due to water. Immediately calling Aqua Systems I was told that they couldn't send someone out to come look at the situation until after the weekend in the afternoon of Monday (in fact, I was told that they cannot just up and change their appointments around and disrupt their business for our issue). From the initial conversation Aqua Systems continued to reiterate that they are not assuming liability if and until they inspect and see. Upon arriving Monday and looking at the unit for literally 1 minute, Bill stated that there were several parts that were broken which had caused the unit to fail. When asked if he could have or should have seen these issues at the first meeting he stated "not necessarily". He even had the audacity with carpet pulled up, millwork removed, dehumidifiers humming and floor air movers whirling to ask if we wanted to replace this old unit or just repair a couple parts, but advised that the unit was old and probably won't last much longer. He likened our situation to getting your oil changed at a dealership then 5 days later the engine blows up. When I contact the service manager afterward to my surprise he quoted the same exact oil change example with me regarding our units failure to which I asked if this was in the employee handbook. Now I didn't know a lot about the workings of a water softener but I have learned a lot since their visit. There are several components that prevent the brine tank from overflowing as a failsafe. Most notably and most easily tested is the float valve sensor in the brine take. A quick pull on that and the flow of water to the take should stop. I stood with Bill the entire time he was there for the initial visit and he DID NOT test this valve but now this part was one of the several that needed replaced. Our quoted repair bill just to get our basement back in the prior condition is $1500 in remediation costs alone (using the company that Aqua Systems said they have used in the past of issues like ours - The remediation staff even stated to me that they have worked with Aqua Systems a number of times - It angers me that a remediation specialist knows of Aqua Systems in this way) $2000 for replacing the entire carpet after spending $250 on carpet cleaning where they were unable to remove the salt residue without breaking the carpet down so we sit with crunchy carpet and an unusable basement. $500 in millwork and carpentry. THATS $4250 IN REPAIR COST BECAUSE AQUA SYSTEMS AND BILL WERE NEGLIGENT IN THEIR DETERMINATION THAT THE UNIT WAS WORKING PROPERLY. The company felt enough liability to send the invoices to its insurance company (Cincinnati Insurance) who investigated the situation and stated that they were not negligent and are not assuming liability with an opinion letter sent to me that details part of the fact and incorrectly represents what actually happened. I DEMAND THAT THEY TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR NEGLIGENCE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED SO DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID IN USING THEM.
Response from Aqua Systems

It works all right most of the time. Sometimes it tastes a little salty. I think they did a good installation job. Their price was better than other softener companies, that's why we went with them. They offered more of the amenities. They were nice and worked with our schedule. They were very professional. I would ask them more questions, but I would use them again.

We had a malfunctioning water softener and water filtration system in our recently purchased home. The well water left all our fixtures and me orange with ironstains. It smelled terribly of sulphur or iron, and also tasted terribly. Aqua Systems tested our water and recommended a combination of products including a water softener, ozone filter, and reverse osmosis system. Our water no longer stinks or stains, tastes good, and does a great job cleaning clothes and dishes. Couldn't be happier.
