"Smith Brothers did have a contract with the Millers. We did fulfill the contract. When it wasn't big enough, we gave them the gravel, at no extra cost. As stated, we had no problem communicating with them, he did however give us a F in responsiveness?? As far as the length of the project, we signed documentation stating that the job would be done by a certain date. We fulfilled that also. We do not feel that we were unprofessional, and hate to see the F rating here also. People can state anything that they want to, but that doesn't make it true. At the end of the day, he has a well constructed garage, and we will stand on that."
"[Member Name Removed] Was a pleasure working with you and we do appreciate the kind words. We look forward to possibly working with you again in the future. Smith Brothers Ultimate Builders Inc"
"As stated in an earlier response, we did not contract with this individual. He put out a review on 03/11/2013 [Member Name Removed] Stating work was done in 2012. Now my calculations would be that is 5 years ago...not 3. As we also stated, we didn't buy the business until after his contract. I do not appreciate that someone is able to put a review on a company that we have worked very hard to maintain. We regret that he has had issues, but it was not from a service that we performed for this man."
"Ms [Member Name Removed], Thank you for your review. We appreciate you and hope that all is well. Thank you, Ron"
"We did contract with [Member Name Removed] and [Member Name Removed]. However, in contract as stated, there is nothing about a cellars condition. We were led to believe it was sound. It was completely grown over with grass, so we had no way to know its condition. As far as paint, we do not paint, so would not have been our paint. We did not hack together anyone's garage, nor do we steal. Our job was inspected, and met code."
"We did contract with [Member Name Removed]. We did NOT use a used door. [Member Name Removed] wanted a different door, and did not want to pay the price for the upgrade, which was fairly significant."
"Mr [Member Name Removed] was contracted for an unfinished garage. We did give him what was contracted. He also had to have a variance, signed all the paperwork for the variance, and then refused to pay for it..still owing us almost 1700.00. Was a horrible experience with him constantly screaming. He locked the doors, put up drywall, and the inspectors couldn't get in. He knew he was unfinished, and is why he locked inspectors out. He did have to remove drywall, and got a pass on the work we completed for him...but still unpaid :("
There were delays regarding getting approval from the historic society and permits from the city. None of those delays were in Smith Brothers' control and they took care of all the leg work to get the approvals. This was a huge value to me! I would have liked more proactive communication, but Ron was always responsive via text and phone when I inquired about the timeline.
Overall, it was a great experience and I've had lots of complements on my new garage! Thanks, Ron and team!
"[Member Name Removed], Thank you so much for your kind words. You were a very kind person to work for, even in bitter cold, and we so appreciate you as a client."
We contacted Smith Brothers to get a quote for a garage addition to our house after getting quotes from a couple other builder/remodelers in the city. We worked through the details and made sure we all on the same page as to the level of work to be done and the finishes required. He gave us a very competitive bid on the work. We weren't yet Angie's list members, so I asked a friend to check them out on Angie's list and there were some reviews that made me question whether it would be a good idea to continue with them as the contractor. I asked Ron to provide me references of other clients for which he had done work. I thoroughly check out each of his references speaking with each home owner and looking at the work that was done. Everyone was happy with the service that they had received, so we decided to use them as our contractor.
Ron really has an eye for the details and made sure that the addition was completed to match the existing home. Ron is actively involved with the construction and work along side with his employees. He made sure the roof tied in nicely and trim pieces and brick all matched the home. I am very happy with how it turned out. We have had so many neighbors stop us and tell us how nice the addition looks. Everyone tells us that it looks as if it was always there. I feel that is the highest complement since the original structure was built 60 years earlier. I'm very glad with my decision to have Smith Brothers build my garage addition and would recommend him to others.
"[Member Name Removed] Thank you so much for your kind words. Hope all is going well. Sorry it took so long to respond, but we have been swamped as ever. Take care, Ron"

"I bought this business on May 24,2012. I spent the morning looking for this individual with my paperwork. I see that there was a "Tony" who had a job sold to him in June of 2011. I have no contract, only an appointment book. If you would have given information correctly, I could have verified information much quicker. I did not sell, or perform work on this job. I was willing to take a look at what the issues might be, but apparently this individual just wants to make good people look bad. We stand behind our work. I am sorry for any experience that he had that wasn't pleasant. I think it is important when you are stating undesireable things about someone, or a company, that you are as forthcoming as possible. I do not believe this individual was doing that. My last response stated very clearly that we would be happy to deal with any issues that were ours, or at least try to clear anything up. As we received no response, it seemed like the interest was one of a complaining nature and not necessarily one looking for resolution. We wish the best for Tony, or whomever this person is. We are still willing at this time to talk with him as well. I don't think he would welcome a call from us, so I will leave it to him to contact us. 317-784-7700"
"We did go out and perform work for the customer and his wife. We did have to wait for permits, and we typically do not call a client while we are in hold mode. We definitely need to change that! Permits did take longer than usual. In respects of the neighbors fence, we did contact the customer and let him know that our supplier seasonally supplies the fence, and as soon as it came in, we were replacing the one panel that was damaged. It is unfortunate that this response came in before the fencing. The customer has always been a pleasant person to work with and we appreciate his business. We apologize for any misunderstanding and delay that he had to go through. We do have every intention of taking care of the fence and will be contacting the customer"
"Apparently this individual has our company confused with another one. We do not know this person, have NOT done work for them. Would appreciate not being bashed by someone I have never performed services for. We have no contract with this person, and never have had. All of our work is under contract. If the gentleman would call us, we would be happy to clear it up. Especially if someone is acting like they are us. 317-784-7700"
"This is not our company. We were incorporated 9/4/08"
