Prior to the appointment, I visited to schedule the appointment. The receptionist was polite and friendly and able to give an approximate cost of what services we knew we needed (annual shots, stool test, etc.). She was patient as my wife and I had to juggle back and forth because we both wanted to be present in case of any more serious issues. A date and time was set.
The day before the appointment, we received a courtesy call from the receptionist reminding us of our appointment and verifying that we did not need to change it.
We arrived ten minutes prior to the appointment and were asked to fill out some basic information since this was our first visit. Receptionist confirmed everything and promptly led us into a clean examination room.
We waited maybe two minutes for Dr. Goedde to arrive and she met us with a smile and immediately got down and introduced herself to our dog. She asked many questions and took many notes. She even took time to tell us the differences in potential health issues from our old location (e.g., heartworms are more frequently encountered here). She made several recommendations and was quite patient with our repeated and pointed questions about what is better, what is cheaper and is there really a difference between medications and treatments.
Boxers are prone to tumors and she noted several on our dog and made recommendations and suggestions for future treatment of those issues. We even discussed what foods our dog was eating and, since she was unfamiliar with our brand of dog food (which we brought from out west with us), she offered to review the ingredients and make any recommendations for improvement (or not).
Dr. Goedde was friendly, polite and professional. At no time did we feel rushed or overly pressured. Frank conversation about our dog's health and future health issues were appreciated. Estimates for future visits and procedures were quickly provided and ready before we left.
We definitely will be going again.
Under new ownership- Pet Owners beware!!!
When I first called to make an appointment the receptionist was rude. It did not get any better when arriving at the vet. The receptionist was young and barely talked. In addition, it was too warm in the facility and my dog was met by a cat at the door. My dog has not been around too many cats and is generally really good with other animals. This cat however repeatedly swatted at her head making her nervous. By the time the overly stressed vet, Dr. Goedde came to see her, my dog was very nervous. My dog is very friendly and weirdly has never been bothered by going to the vet. However, this trip was different, and she acted very nervous. Dr. Goedde acted like she did not have any time to listen to any concerns. In addition, she gave me pamphlets on how to become a better owner so that my dog is not nervous going to the vet. I thought all animals and humans alike do not like going to the doctor!!! I used to go to Dr. Nelson who was an amazing vet. Unfortunately he has retired leaving the practice to Dr. Goedde. Prices have gone up considerably and the service is very lacking. I would advise pet owners who love their pet like I do to seek out another vet.
