Guarantee Rate - Jim Paglis

Jim was entirely patient and professional throughout the whole process.  He is extremely knowledgeable about loan products, whether conventional or FHA, and entirely ethical.  He has been in the mortgage lending business for years and is very familiar with underwriting processes and approvals.  At the outset of my house search, I "interviewed" a few other mortgage brokers, and some of the suggestions they made were unbelievable -- out and out fraud.  Jim on the other hand, is not a slickster, and will tell you the facts and lay out the situation as it is.  He will tell you "you qualify for X dollars" and not suggest to you that your loan application include statements that just aren't true in order to present you as a stronger/more qualified buyer.  If you can't afford a house, he will tell you, "I can't get you qualified for that amount," and will make an effort to educate you as to the in's and out's of how the financing process works, and make reasonable suggestions as to how you can qualify if you do not (pay off other debts, save a bigger downpayment, put off purchase for X more months).  I was not a first-time buyer, but many of the rules have changed in the years since my last purchase/refinance, and I appreciated his willingness to spend the time to explain the process.  I have since referred others to Jim for purchase and/or refinance and each of them has been very complimentary about Jim's knowledge, responsiveness and professionalism.  I would welcome the opportunity to work with him again.
