Thom came out and looked at my sagging garage header, a great room wall and my nook door and within a few days had a quote for me on the garage beam and his thoughts on the other work. He let me know it would be a couple of weeks before he could start and that he would call a few days before starting to make sure the timing worked for me. He was prompt every day, we discussed his plans for that day before I left for work or on the phone and I came home each night to find that work completed. He cleaned up and swept the garage floor every day and bagged all the trash so things were neat and clean. After completing the garage beam which only took about 3 1/2 days, we discussed his thoughts on the great room wall and the door replacement. He has been very professional, kept me informed of plans and costs (garage beam was a fixed bid and remaining work has been time and material) and followed through on things in the time frame we discussed. I've been very happy both with the quality of Thom's work and his focus on the little things like cleaning up, asking questions rather than assuming and including me in the process. I will definitely use Thom's services in the future and readily recommend him to my family and friends.
Description of Work: Thom replaced my garage header beam along with some additional repair work on the adjoining wall of my garage. The original solid pine beam was undersized and had been sagging over the last few years. He arranged for the garage door to be taken down then built a support wall before removing the beam, removed it and replaced it with LVL that was overall much larger and appropriate for the load. After the beam was in place, he took the support wall down, replaced the door trim, replaced the drywall that had to be cut out for the support wall and retextured it and had the garage door re-installed. Since my home is a log home they're a little different to work with than a framed wall but it was obvious he knew what he was doing. Thom also has done some additional work on a wall that required him to removed a french door before working on the wall, he then did some great work on the wall, then reinstalled the door. He has re-hung my gutters and is replacing a door with a window currrently.
