the job that was to take about a week took two days. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Fantastic! Doug came out twice to talk with me about the new design and offered some solutions to the concerns I had about my 16 year old paver patio. What I really appreciated was that: he worked on my job and my job alone (didn't have several jobs going on at the same time); he owns the company and understands that his name goes on the product he brings to you; he brought responsible help with him who were held to his high standards; he left my property at the end of the job with not a thing for me to clean up. When I say that this man works hard, believe me. The temps this week were in the 90's and the humidity just as high, but that didn't stop them from getting the patio done in 3 days! Highly recommend him and I will hire him for my next project.

Everything was great. Doug really listened to what we wanted out of the project, he offered several helpful ideas, and stuck to the quoted price. Furthermore, he showed to work on time and stayed on task every day, and he did a wonderful job. He did so well that we recommended him to our neighbor.

Doug did a wonderful job, and we plan on working with him in the future. Being a landscape architect, he brought a sophistication to the overall outdoor plan. It's elegant and simple- very good looking. He's a good listener and took his time to really hear what direction we wanted to go. We were amazed at how quickly he worked and appreciated that he was careful with the equipment he brought in so our lawn wouldn't get torn up. Doug definitely knows what he's doing and he takes pride in his work. We've had very positive comments about our and quot;new look.and quot; Having the degree and the experience makes Doug a hands-down winning professional!

I was surprised at the estimate. I thought it would be a lot more!!!! He was able to use landscape blocks that I already had and I am sure that kept the cost down. Because of the spring weather he was about a week later than estimated but called and explained what was going on. I felt like he wanted to please me and was open to my likes and dislikes. He and his crew worked diligently and timely to finish the job in the allotted time.

Doug came to review the first project of ground erosion. We liked his proposal of what would be the best design plan at a reasonable cost. Other landscape companies that provided quotes were too extreme with their plan and price. Doug envisioned the project the same way we thought it should be done. Gravel and weed barrier were used where the stepping stones were relaid and topsoil, seed and straw blanket were used where the property required reshaping. The first project was $2250.00. Doug and his helpers were extremely courteous and quite meticulous with their work ethics. Doug was easy to reach and always communicated with us. The project was done in the timeframe that was planned. Upon completion we discussed the second project of repairing the front entry. Doug had time about two weeks later so the work was scheduled and done. The front entry step and pathway were redone with brick pavers. The landscape in that area was readjusted. Brick pavers were used as a mowing edge around the landscape. The second project was $2000.00. When all was said and done the design changes gave the house an updated fresh appearance as though it was a new house again. Overall we were extremely pleased with both projects and Doug's professionalism. In fact we have him scheduled for the spring of 2014 to reseed the front lawn. We highly recommed Doug and his helpers and feel his business definitely deserves the and quot;Super Service Awardand quot;.

Doug provided a lovely drawing of his landscape plan after meeting with us to see the site and discuss our likes, dislikes, etc. we were pleased with the plan; made a couple minor changes and asked him to proceed. He was able to get it started in a timely manner, and finished within a week. The block wall he installed was great, and the landscaping is gorgeous! We are very pleased!

Doug's team did an excellent job. Everyone showed up when they said and the work completed is beautiful and just like we wanted. I would definitely recommend him in the future.

Doug and his wife came out to do a walk around the property and get our input and what we had in mind. He had a book of photos with prior projects and ideas. He came back and walked around and did measurements and prepared a very detailed sketch of his ideas. This is very important for people without built in vision for how something will look. And something that no other provider offered. We loved the patio that he had drawn with the easy curves. We then put a deposit and got on his schedule, which was booked out until mid June due to the early arrival of spring. He kept us informed of his schedule along the way and brought us samples of the pavers that he uses. He pulled pavers that matched the brick on the house well. Doug was very good about adapting the landscaping to meet our budget, so many of the plants he had in mind to plant we did ourselves to save some money. He had ideas of where we could save money.
The project started and completed at the time Doug said. Doug had to remove a concrete patio slab prior to preparing the ground for pavers. It was a labor intensive process. He also prepared large flower beds all around the patio and back of the house. He planted 3 large trees and used good soil and topped off with dark mulch. It took about 1 week to complete and the final product looks great. It dramatically improves the appearance of the backyard. Doug even came back to check on the trees after they were planted due to the drought that was starting at that time. We enjoyed working with Doug from start to finish. He was professional the entire time and did what he said he was going to do. Several people have asked about our project and we have provided them with his information and highly recommend him. It is hard to find providers that have good customer service every step of the way and lived up to the great postings viewed on Angies List.
The pricing was competitive with other quotes, but his plans and outcome far exceeded the other quotes. We love the patio and have spent countless days and nights enjoying it. If we ever the get the opportunity to use him again, we will.

Once we finally connected Doug and his wife came out to do a walk-around the house with us. They were very friendly people and Doug listened to everything we wanted done and offering suggestions along the way. He referred us to the tree service he uses and we did get a quote from them for removing the 2 trees. Doug said this was a quite a big job and mentioned we might think about a whole new design. However, we only wanted to "renovate". I called 2 weeks later after not hearing anything Doug said he had been too busy to put anything together. We know this is their busy time of year. We decided to use the service of another landscape service. But Doug was very professional and cordial and I would recommend him to others.

Doug and his assistant did a great job edging our landscape beds and mulching them. It looks so beautiful. We will definitely hire him again in the future.

He is great and has done work for us before and has done work for us at our old house. So we have him do work for us at the house. He is very reasonably price and he does almost off the work himself or he hires local people he know to do the work. He really does a great job.

The overall experience was excellent. Doug has a knack for what is an accent to and complimentary to the house and existing landscape. He worked with me on the plant selection, which I appreciated. The work was executed in two days and I am very pleased with the results.

Doug, is an honest business man that is simply a pleasure to work with. He did everything that he said he would do and more, and finished the job on time. Doug and his crew worked very hard to make sure that we were happy and satisfied with the job. They were always courtious polite and professional at all times. The finished job is wonderful and turned out better than we hoped for. I would not hesitate to recommend them to even the most discriminating individuals. They have done several different jobs for us over the last couple of years. They are supposed to come this spring again. They are dependable. I like their ability. They keep their words and they show up on time. I never felt like they overcharge and the price is very reasonable. They do a very good work. I would use them again in the future too.

We called Doug Spencer and asked for an estimate to do mulching/edging of our landscaping around our house and to replace evergreen trees in our backyard. We met with Doug and talked over what we were looking for in the backyard and he gave us some of his ideas. He then created a design for our backyard of how the new trees would be placed and gave us an estimate. It was just what we wanted. He and his assistant did an excellent job removing all the trees and debris and measuring out and planting the new ones. They also did a meticulous job with edging and mulching our entire landscaping. We will definitely rehire him again for our landscaping needs. He was nice to work with.

Doug came out to our house and came up with a sketch from which he then created a design that we liked. There were a couple plants/bushes that I had initially wanted as part of the design but after further investigation on my part, Doug's suggestions seemed much better suited for the space. Within the first couple days, he installed a lamp post, removed sod to create beds, added sod in other places, and prepared for our fence. The fence went in, holes were dug for the plants/bushes, plants went in, mulch was added and he was done within a week. The plants, although small, appear to be in excellent health and when put in the ground they looked really good for this time of year. The fence looks wonderful. Doug quality of work is great, he's professional and he's a nice guy.

I was very impressed by Mr. Spencer's attention to detail and helpful suggestions, he not only listened carefully to what I had to say but understood what it was I was trying to do. He's not just a contracted order-taker, but provided expert advice that greatly enhanced my small project. The hard scape retaining wall was elegant and functional and the landscaping around our 85 year old farm house porch was true to the style of the era. I highly recommend his company's services and look forward to our next project!

Mr Doug Spencer had the most resonable prices and seemed to actually take the time to listen. Some other landscaping businesses didnt have time or were too busy to even return my call, or when they did it was a week later. Very VERY happy I decided on Doug Spencer landscaping - They did a wonderful job...everything is PERFECT. I usually dont like hiring a contractor and having them come to my home when I am not there, it just doesnt make me feel comfortable, but in this case.....I was not at all disappointed to come home to beautiful work. I can see that his company cares about quality and it passed my police/military inspection. GREAT JOB MR. SPENCER and I look forward to having you come out every year. You have my Trust and that should mean a lot coming from a police officer!

Doug did a great job! He did the job personally with 1 helper in 2 days. Day 1 was spent removing overgrown landscaping, trimming an overgrown tree and preparing the beds for new plantings. Day 2 was spent installing rock features, plants and mulching. Doug worked within our budget and reused as much of our plantings as possible. We will have him back for future projects.
