Drywall Service
Could not review based on work, because I didn't get to the point of having anything done.
I can comment on responsiveness.
Took 3 1/2 Business days to return my inquiry for service call.
When call was returned, an open-ended appointment was set up for him to stop by during the week to evaluate work.
Never stopped by, never called.
2 Full weeks later got a message from him on answering machine asking if we still needed work done. We did not respond.
As stated, I cannot comment on the work and think I'm being generous giving an overall and quot;Cand quot;.
I joined Angie's List specifically to avoid this kind of a situation. Guess that didn't work out.

Gerald exceded my expectations. I see why he has such great ratings. He was prompt, expedient, went above and beyond the call of duty on another small issue and I will use him every time!

Jerry (Gerald) Simon is quite possibly the best drywall man in southern Indiana. Yes, his work takes some time. Yes, he is a perfectionist. Yes, he's got a unique personality.
But considering what you get in return, it's very, very much worth any minor hassles. Drywall is truly an art in his hands.
He was one of three vendors I had quote the drywall job on our new house. We bought a and quot;shelland quot; with no drywall inside and subbed the parts we could not do. His drywall quote was the lowest, but after seeing other reviews here (thanks, Angie's List!), I still trusted that he would do a good job. Some other vendors shook their heads and said and quot;Noand quot; to our job, it was that difficult. This is a 2 story cape cod house with a walk-out basement. With three standard dormers in the front and two shed dormers in the back, an open loft with balcony, some 20 and 30 foot walls, cathedral ceiling with many boxed beams and lots of odd angles and difficult places. It was a very daunting drywall job. I've done drywall in the past and would not even consider it.
Jerry looked at it and said and quot;It's going to be a challenge, but it's workable.and quot;
He did an incredible, stunning, beautiful job, even considering some of the unusual requests we made and the difficulty of a lot of uneven stud walls and other problems that were underlying in the construction of the home.
When you are subbing a house on your own, you meet a lot of types and you may have a hard time figuring out who to trust. This is not a problem with Mr. Simon. I got a gut feeling from the beginning that I could trust this man. I had no trouble at all giving him a key to our home and letting him work on it without being there. And he knows exactly what he's doing and does such a great job. Even if he makes the rare mistake or overlooks something, he fixes it right away.
Because he has no email, it can be somewhat difficult to communicate, but he does have a phone and a cell phone and will give you his cell number when he's actually starting your job (smart!) and is communicative when you call.
Believe me, you will not meet a better drywall vendor than Jerry Simon. Get on his calendar as fast as you can, he is very popular and is normally booked at least 3 months or more in advance. I called in November of 2012 to get him the following year in May, so let that stand as an example of his popularity. We feel extremely lucky to have had Jerry Simon do our drywall.

Roofing
I was pleased with his service. We have a very steep roof and that did not seem to be a problem, but something nice though is that one of neighbors came by, who I really did not know that well, and he said that he was watching our roofer, and he did such a good job that they hired him. I would not call anybody else for roofing work other than him.

Drywall Service
After hanging most of the drywall myself, we contracted Gerald to mud/finish the drywall and also do some crown molding and woodwork. We quoted 4 companies, and he was within 10-15% of the low range but well worth the extra cost. Not only is he a perfectionist, but he is very professional, communicates well, and stays on a reasonable project timeline. The best thing about him in addition to his crafstmanship is that he is extremely patient and helps you work through any design issues you may have. We had a few corrections needed on prior work done, he would spend time on-site with me help me understand my options and ultimately find the best solution. End result: our basement looks GREAT. You get what you pay for - and Gerald is well worth it. Kenny

Gerald arrived when he said he would and stayed with the job until completion. He did excellent work. When he was giving it a final going-over, I told him it didn't have to be perfect, since it was a garage, that we weren't building a watch. He replied, "I'd rather build the watch", meaning, of course he would do his best, even if it was a garage.

They are very good. He's an artist, I'm telling you. He's just great. All I can tell you is that he is an artist. If he fills in a hole or a crack, he filled in a skylight for us and you can't even tell where it was.
