I contacted Mark Howard about cleaning accumulated debris in the gutters of my mother's house. He visited the home and called me with the estimate. He demanded payment in advance. Having used him one time prior with somewhat satisfactory results I agreed and on 11/1/2013, he came to my home and I paid him $200 from my 83 year old mother's checking account for the service to be performed over the weekend. The job was not performed within the agreed upon time period. Upon checking repeatedly over several weeks and repeated contact only on my part, freezing weather set in preventing the job from being completed. After finally reaching him in person, he agreed to refund the money. He claimed to have injured his foot and lost his cell phone. He did however know where I live being that is where he picked up the payment. During that time he never initiated contact with me. Now over a year and many lies &/or excuses later, he has yet to return my mother's money. This man/company cannot be trusted. He initially presented himself in a friendly and conscientious manner, but his last encounters were rude, belligerent and threatening.
I have now received a small claims court judgment against Mark A Howard for the $200 plus costs and interest. He primarily works out of his truck and only uses his cell phone, Facebook and a PO Box to conduct business which makes collections more difficult. He has moved his "operation" from Converse into the Marion area North of Sweetser.
