I will NOT use them again.
Two extremely professional and friendly guys showed up at my house - On Time. They listen to what my problem was and went right to work! They had to cut an access hole in my master bath closet to reach/replace the burst pipe as they could not reach it from my crawl space. The guys kept me informed through the entire process, they were in and out in just over an hour. Lohmeyer Plumbing may be a little more expensive but they are WELL WORTH IT! It's a crap shoot these days to find a professional and friendly service provided. As this is my second experience with these folks, I'd say its a Promise with these folks!!!
Dig area was left in a mess.
My real problem is 2 workers * almost 100 per hour each.
I didn't ask for two plumbers.
I felt very overcharged.
I did get the installation of a clean-out drain, but the two plumber's work did not fix the problem in any way at all. When I received the bill, I was in shock. Earlier reviews warned me that Lohmeyer Plumbing is expensive but professional. They were good at communicating and even arrived EARLY! However, I was charged $488.39 for one hour and 15 minutes of work only to be referred to a septic tank clean-out service when they could not fix the problem. When I called the company to protest the charge, Dave worked with me, and my bill was lowered to $391.26. I still think this was too high.
Here is the original bill:
Service Call: $109.75 (I was told that this is the standard service call for people OUTSIDE the city limits and is charged just to DRIVE TO YOUR HOME.)
Labor Cost: $235.63 (Lohmeyer charges $94.25 per hour for EACH plumber provided)
Charge to use Drain Machine: $100 (even though I already paid per hour for labor)
Supplies were Reasonable in Cost: Plastic Pipe was $11.06; PVC Plug was $3.86; Female Adapter PVC $17.85; Concrete Mix $5.21; Miscellaneous Supplies $2.40)
TOTAL ORGINAL LABOR CHARGE TO BE AT MY HOME FOR 1.25 HOURS was $445.38!
Dave of Lohmeyer Plumbing understood that I was unhappy because the problem was not at all resolved, and I then had to pay a septic clean-out service. He deducted 30 min. of labor cost ($47.13) and half of the drain machine charge ($50). This is how my bill was lowered to $391.26. (I still had to hire a septic clean-out service for $285 more! If I had listened to a friend of mine and just called the septic clean-out service FIRST, I could have saved $391.26, but I thought a professional plumber could better diagnose the actual problem.)
Setting up the call went smoothly and they were available several days later at a time that was convenient for my household. I asked for a quote on the phone and was given the pricing for the service call, hourly charge, and an estimate of how long each faucet would take, though of course that didn't include materials. We expected the service call to cost between about $350 and $500 and got a bill for $408. While this was more expensive than the quotes for several other local plumbers, reviews from a few friends indicated that Lohmeyer was one of the higher quality operations in town (and we will pay extra for high quality work).
Chuck called about 30 minutes before the 1pm scheduled time and asked if he could come early, which was awesome. The whole thing took 95 minutes from when he parked the truck until he was all packed up to leave - and the invoice reflected 1.5 hours. The quality of the parts is great - the new spigots are solid and of significantly better quality than the home's original ones from 1994 with vacuum release and Chuck even angled them slightly to make it easier to attach the garden hoses. It took about a week for the invoice to come in and each item was very clearly listed and the quantities used matched what we would expect for the type of job.
Chuck was professionally attired, friendly and polite, knowledgeable, and seemed to work efficiently without cutting any corners. We have been very happy and will be recommending their services to anyone who asks!
Over the summer, we experienced some bubbles in our toliets after flushing - we didn't think too much of it.
In the winter time we started experiencing sewage back up into our showers - not fun.
After several frustrating experiences with other companies unable to diagnose and correct the issue, called Lohmeyer out.
They were willing to listen to the details I gave them, and did a careful diagnosis. (Turns out that it wasn't roots in our sewage lines causing us grief as diagnosed by other companies.....it was the fact that our older house was still plumbed for high flow toliets even though the house had had low flow toliets for many years). They were up front and honest about the work, and took care of the job.
I appreciated how friendly the workers were, and the quality of their workmanship......its been 6 months since Lohmere corrected the issue, and we've seen no signs of any reoccurances.
I was a little surprised by the final bill.......I wish Lohmeyer could have articulated expenses a little better on a real time basis. However, after I got over the sticker shock I was glad to pay - a little money is worth it to know your toliets will work without a problem!
