Auto Mufflers
My wife's Corvette developed a throaty noise indicative of an exhaust leak. I determined that the flange of one of the exhaust pipes had separated from the pipe coming from the catalyst. Johnny's Muffler Shop was able to WELD the flange back on the pipe by placing a neat circumferential weld bead. This repair has now lasted more than a year and 20,000 miles. If the exhaust pipe with the flange would have been replaced it would have cost several hundred dollars !
