I called day after 4th of July. They said they could send someone out after I described the the water backup that occured due to a clog. They quoted me an hourly rate. Once they got here they unclogged the sewer line in my front yard stating that is what caused the backup. This took them 30-40 minutes. I told them I wanted to make sure this didnt happen again and they stated they "forgot" the camera so they would have to come back and provide that service. I asked how long and they told me 1-2 days. In the meantime I had them replace a hose bib while they were there which took 10-15 minutes. I called the office back and told them my insurance needs a bill with their findings in order to make sure this was covered. I never got a bill or invoice at the time of service. odd. After continually getting the run around about an invoice/cause I finally called the owner because his wife wouldn't give me any answer or result which was required by my insurance in order to start the claim. My half bath, master bath, master bedroom/closet, and basement all had sewage backup with standing sewage water in those areas.  After a week went by the owner finally called me and said he would have to camera before fixing what he thought would be a broken pipe. I said fine but I need it fixed right away and I need pictures and the invoice to submit to my insurance. Again after numerous calls and horrible service they finally tried to send me an invoice 15 days after the fact. The invoice was for almost $600. Again, only unclog, bib, and camera.  All took less than 2 hours. I called to dispute because this did not match the rate they quoted me originally and they state they charge by the job and not the hour. Never was this mentioned at anytime I called or they were on site. I still have not seen the pictures and do not know if they actually camera'd the drain. I had to have another service provider come finish the job because they never even completed the job and I couldn't reach anyone or they flat out refused to help me.  The other provider camera'd and repaired the pipe for $300 and did it the day after I called to setup the service as promised. I told the Barr owner he over charged me and never completed the agreement we discussed which was to fix the broken pipe.  He never followed up and his wife hung up anytime I asked for details which my insurance required. He stated he would not change the charge and "there are other ways to get the money out of me". I was more than happy to pay the agreed original price for the services that were completed. Instead he is trying to take me to court over the remaining balance which I have no problem representing myself and the true facts of the horrible dishonest service they provide. Stay far away from this company.

I was quoted at $300 by the owner. I was never told that that they billed by the hour until they tried to give me a final bill. The owner sent his son to do the job. The son took 3 hours to do the work of installing a shower head and pipe on the first day. He came around 1:30pm and left at about 2:45pm. On the second day, he came and took four hours to install a faucet and shower head downstairs. I had to pay a nurse two hours of overtime in order to stay in the house while I had to leave because he was taking so much longer than would have been anticipated as necessary. Other plumbers would have taken 15-30 minutes max to do the work. When I got back I was given a bill for $700 and finally told that they charge hourly! I thought that the son stepped outside after I told him to contact his father because the final cost was WAY over the bidded job. But, he just left without handing me a copy of a bill. He told me he was billing me $78 per hour for labor and said that it would be 7 hours billed. When I contested the bill, the owner of the company immediately threatened to put a lien on my house if I didn’t pay within 24 hours. At no point did I ever say that I wasn’t going to pay the bill, I DID, however, ask for an itemized bill which he refused to grant. I still haven’t received an actual bill. He said he wasn’t going to give me one because he had told me what the bill was going to be the day before. I have a witness to this conversation as he was on speaker phone while my father’s hospice care worker was standing next to me. In my case, Barr Plumbing engaged in deceptive practice and I would advise you to take heed that the final bill will most likely NOT be anywhere near the bid quoted up front.

The tech showed up at 9 am and left at 3 pm. The temperature of the water in the shower was eratic and he came to work on that. He was constantly talking to tech support and could not fix it. He was actually a nice guy but when he left it was in worse shape. Bottom line, they did not repair the unit. I asked him repeatedly that if he could not fix it that I would not have to pay and he agreed. They told me that I have to pay. The tech told me it was installed properly and the manufacturer is telling me it wasn't, blaming it on one another and no one taking responsibility.

They charged $105 for the service call and that included the first 30 minutes. He was in and out in 20 mins. He was fast, courteous and professional. They weren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. I will defintely be calling Barr Plumbing again.

They are very neat and professional. They arrive when they say they are going to come or call if they are going to be late. I have done business with them for over twenty years.
