Ray's Trash Service Inc

If I could give a lower rating I would. The service is terrible. Trash is not been picked up for over 5 weeks. Customer service is very, very poor!

12-6-22 I was first one in my Fishers neighborhood to use & bring Ray's in over 20yrs ago. The service at that time was great. Over the last 5yrs it has declined & declined. I often have to call because my trash has not been picked up. The cust service dept mgr & staff is poor at best. I live on a major street & houses on both sides get picked up but somehow mine is missed repeatedly. On many occasions I have gone out of my way to provide Gatorade, water or cookies to drivers. Had to call today & wait 15min before even spoke with a pers. As of 12-7-22 they still have not picked up my trash which is 1 trash can. The owners name is Donnie Matthews & cust serv mgr is Tammy. *** I would suggest you look at other companies. JS

They delivered it but it was nearly sundown and of course they wanted to charge me for that day too. I did talk them out of picking it up until the day after it was supposed to be picked up to make up for the late delivery.

I have been using this company for two years with no issues. Yesterday they only picked up my trash bin and did not pick up the trash I placed next to it. I called and was told that they received more than my limit. There were only three bags of trash in my bin. Next to the bin, I had several boxes pictured below. They did not take them. There is no way this was over my limit. This is just lazy people who don't want to work. I was simply told, "well I am sorry you were over your limit" over and over by the representative. This business model seems to permit their employees to call in whatever they do not want to do. Find a better trash company. It is sad when you try to stay local and cannot because of poor quality.

They were the cheapest option in my area so I chose them solely based on price. Trash and recycling were picked up on a routine basis but the cans were regularly not returned to the same location where we put them out in the morning. I know it seems minor but we live on a the main street in our neighborhood with a lot of traffic so I would always have to park my car in the street in order to move my cans so that I could then pull into my driveway. Just annoying but I dealt with it.

The major issue I have with this company and why I will be dropping my service as soon as a new one is confirmed this week, is they could NEVER get our billing right. We never received paper bills. Come to find out from one of their customer service representatives they use a third party for their paper billing so she suggested we switch to paperless billing. Great I thought! I would have chosen that option to begin with had I known about it. Two days ago I received my first paperless bill. I saw it was due May 1 so honestly didn't pay it much more attention than that since I had a couple of weeks to pay it. Then I got a phone call today saying they never received my payment due February 1. I searched my email (where they said it was sent) and the only email I've ever received from this company (billing, promotional, etc.) was on April 4, 2016. The two women were beyond rude and treated me as if I was avoiding paying my $40 trash bill. I pay a lot of bills and NEVER have I had this many issues. She rudely told me I should enroll in autopay then. There is no way I'm enrolling in autopay with a company who cannot get their own accounting right. I will not mine of my husband's credit or reputation be ruined by a ridiculous nonsensical error on their end. I'm so livid that I am cancelling my service with Ray's even though I will be paying more with another company. They are proof that cheapest is always the best.

We have been Ray's customers for many years and have had excellent service.  
Our 1995 TV was going to cost more to fix than to buy a new one.  Began the search for someone to pick up & haul away the TV.  Called Ray's to check on whether this was a service they could provide.& pricing  Very pleased to find that we could get it scheduled and they would recycle it for 35.00..Pickup was scheduled for 8-6-15...
 
Our son had the TV our of our house & garage for pick up.  
When the truck came on 8-6, they had to abort the pickup because of tree issues.  In calling to see why it had not been picked up was told the very heavy TV needed to be moved past the trees toward the road.  We are both past mid-70's so definitely could not move it up the gravel driveway.  Mindy insisted there was no way they could do it otherwise and suggested we call someone to help us move it...
Called our neighbors for help and they came to our rescue with a large dolly and moved it all the way  up the drive to Shelborne Lane for us.
 Recalled Ray's this morning to tell them the TV was now in an area that they could easily access.  John and his large flatbed truck came, belted it, hoisted it onto the truck and drove it off to be recycled...
All & all, we are grateful to have this service available and appreciate John and his expertise to safely get it on the truck and dispose of it....

Up to this point they have been acceptable in terms of trash pick-up.  NOW, they have changed their policy of picking up recycling EVERY OTHER week.  They give a 2' x 3' x 2' plastic container to put recycling in that you have to carry down to the end of your driveway.  Since they're now going to bi-weekly, we requested to have a roll-down toter to put recycling in because in it will carry more recycling product.  They will do it AT AN ADDITIONAL cost.  They will give you another 2' x 3' x 2' plastic container that the customer now has to carry down.  They SAVE money by coming LESS frequently to get recycling but they don't want to make it more convenient for the customer when the customer will have more recycling to keep every OTHER week.  They're NOT an environmentally-conscious company.  They're all about saving a buck.  In return customers now will just throw their recycling in the regular garbage....this is how Ray's Trash operates.

If you want 1/3 to 1/2 of your trash can to sit filled after their weekly "pick up," Ray's is the vendor for you.  These guys routinely leave things in cans; I've called to let management know, but they don't seem to care.  Trash is what you get, any way you slice it.  If you have another choice, pursue it.

We have used Ray's before. So, we have worked and had good experience with them previously. They are great to work with. They were able to place it in a tight spot, just get it on time, and quality was good. Their trash services were for all similarly. Their scheduling was almost to the minute.

Ray's, who provide our residential trash service, delivered two dumpsters to our house. We are moving overseas and needed to do a serious clean out. Ray's delivered a 15 yard dumpster to our house in February. The guy delivered when promised and placed it exactly where we wanted it. We filled it in short order. On the day (03/04/2014) I called to have the full dumpster taken away and to order a smaller, 10 yard, dumpster, the guy came out, took the full one and left the new one! WOW! Outstanding! The delivery/drop off guy, Dale, was super friendly and handled the job with ease. The office staff were knowledgeable and efficient. The price was good, although I was a little miffed that Boone County requires an additional fee for dumpster use - a solid waste district surcharge. This was outside the purview of Ray's so does not reflect upon them.
We have always been pleased with Ray's service and based on this dumpster deal, I would recommended them to anyone. A+ service!

I know they do commercial and private stuff. It was good. I called them first to get price quote. They explain prices and what was allowed and not allowed. They did a good job. We asked them to put the dumpster it in a yard and they asked us to sign a waiver about damaging the yard.

Their punctuality, an professionalism were exactly what I expected form Ray. I would use them again in the future. Their prices were very reasonable which all depends on the size and how long you need the dumpster. They only charge you $3 for each extra day that you need the dumpster.

We have been recycling with Ray'/s for many years. This past week, our container was missed, even though we had put it out the night before (we are the only ones on our court who put one out). We called Ray's at about 2 pm and by 5 pm the container was collected. The person on the phone was very polite - not something you fine very often anymore.

They dropped it off and hauled it away one day later. The cost was reasonable and they substantially beat their competitors' prices.

We are very pleased with our experience with Ray's. They are always on time and put our cans back on our curb. They clean up spilled trash and carry away yard waste as well.
When Republic came to our neighborhood offering a competitive price scale and free recycling, Ray's matched their offer and have held to it.
This is significant to us, as we recycle at least 3 13 gallon trash cans worth of recycling goods per week.
