We had a twenty year old wingback recliner that had seen better days.  Mr York did an excellent job making it look like new again. I particularly appreciated his pick up and drop of of the chair and will definitely use him again in the future.

He brought out samples a couple of times and finally found the best match for 4 chairs.  He was very accommodating and did an excellent job.  Will use in the future.

Gatewood had the fabric supplier send me a large swatch of the material I was interested in because he was told that the dye did not absolutely match what was in the sample. He was very meticulous in this way about the entire project. He was very articulate about every point of the process. Once he had the piece in his shop and stripped he called to tell me they found a note on the frame that was theirs and they had re-upholstered the couch before in 1989! My Mom had used them when she was alive!

Phillip picked the furniture up and delivered it when it was done. He did a beautiful job. He was very attentive to detail and I feel his price was reasonable. He is also very personable. If I have any kind of upholstery job to be done in the future, I will definitely use Gatewood Upholstery.

The entire process was great. The owner came by my house at a convenient time, looked at the piece and gave an estimate. He then took the chair back with him that day. Later when the chair was almost finished, he called to say that we needed another yard of fabric. He went looking at nearby stores and found the matching fabric and finished the job. I thought this was definitely going above and beyond! The chair was delivered and it looks great and its structure is much stronger.

The company did a very nice job. They came to my home with samples and did pick-up and delivery. The service was rather slow but I was told there were health issues and previous jobs ahead of mine. Whenever I had phone contact with them they were always polite and explained delays. The final product looks wonderful and I would use them again.

He was unable to reupholster my dinning room chair seats because of their age and a poor quality job that was done years ago, so he built new seats for my chairs, upholstered them and they are beautiful. Even though he was faced with building the new seats he never changed the original quote for his work. A great personality and very honest

This man does excellent work at a very reasonable price. The work came in under his estimate and he only charged us what was owed. He is very honest and does high quality work. Not only would I use him again for furniture repair and upholstery, I'd recommend him to anyone.

It is a little shop and the guy works at his own pace. But, he is very good. He is a really nice guy. He is reasonably priced.

They do excellent work, the price comparatively is fair, and they are friendly and honest. He works a shoe shine shop outside, so I am sure he was reasonable. They will call you back when it is ready.

We are new residents to the area (transferred from the South last year). I read through the referrals at Angie's List and chose Gatewood Upholstery. My call was answered by Mr. York, the owner, and he responded almost immediately by estimating the job in person and dropping off three sample books for us to peruse. He expertly reupholstered a ''beloved'' family chair using a challenging velvet fabric. Now our chair is removed from its dark and hidden corner and occupies a place of prominence in our room! Oh yes, there was a wee bit of fabric left over that we had Mr. York handcraft into a beautiful cherry footstool that coordinates perfectly. Amazing! Highly recommended and I will use this company again this year.

I WOULD HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE BECAUSE OF THE QUALITY OF THE WORK. I DO A LOT OF DECORATING FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND I'M VERY PARTICULAR. I JUST SAT AND LOOKED AT MY CHAIR BECAUSE HE PERFECTLY MATCHED THE STRIPES IN THAT FABRIC, BETTER THAN IF I HAD BOUGHT THAT CHAIR NEW. I THOUGHT HE WAS VERY REASONABLY PRICED.
