PIERCE GARAGES

It was a nightmare. We were supposed to have a 3 car garage built and unfortunately it was just one disaster after another. Somebody came out and made out a contract for my husband. My husband was very specific on exactly what he wanted from material to where it laid. We worked out the cash price and when certain payments were to be made. A cash payment was supposed to be made after the concrete was poured, lumber delivered and the roof was shingled. The concrete wasn?t poured correctly and was poured 2.5 feet short, so we do not have a 3 car garage but a two and three quarter car garage. 2.5 months after the concrete was poured and the work was almost completed, we were getting calls from the concrete company saying they needed to be paid, so this company was not paying their sub-contractors. We were fighting with them over getting a building a permit and had given them money for the permit, but the city of Chicago was calling us because either their check bounced or they did not reimburse them for their services. Work was supposed to be done within a month, but even after 2.5 or 3 months we were still fighting with them to get the work completed. My husband ended up calling the Better Business Bureau as well as writing to the attorney general of Illinois and that is when we finally got action on our building finally getting completed. The concrete was forged, so we were supposed to get a credit, but they would not pay us that credit, so my husband ended up driving from Chicago to Illinois and went to their office and demanded payment immediately. It took 3.5 or 4 months to resolve the problem and this was after he consulted real estate lawyers and the attorney general. We were very dissatisfied with their service and will never use them again, and we also tell all of our friends and family not to use them. Somebody from their company drove all the way up from Lancing to our house in Chicago to get that money the same day or right away. We also noticed when we got our checks back that they were always cashed at a cash or currency exchange. They always cashed our checks out immediately and never deposited them in a business bank deposit and we felt really uneasy about that as well.
