Cleaning by Deb

Debra and her associate do good work. She is very detail oriented in the job she does. I first hired her (off of Angie's list) in February. As I explained to her, I needed a reliable cleaning service for my elderly (87) aunt's house. Upon meeting Deb we agreed on a price (which I thought was a little expensive but was willing to pay because of her friendly demeanor etc) and set her first appointment for the following Saturday. I explained to her that I am a p/t resident in FL, and live in NYC in the summer, so I needed her to service my aunt's account and email me her invoice upon completion.
The first service went well, she did an excellent job of cleaning. I did however find it somewhat odd that she didn't schedule the next cleaning appointment at the time I paid her (which was in person). Five weeks past and I sent several text messages asking if she had spoken w/ my aunt about scheduling the next cleaning. In the interest of brevity, she made the appointment, and subsequently called (about 15 min before her scheduled arrival time) my aunt to tell her that she couldn't get a babysitter and asked to reschedule... but she didn't say when? The next day I called her and she said she could come the following week....which I agreed to.
The following week she called and asked to move the appointment to a different day that week (I agreed). The next day she called again asking to go back to the original date, I again agreed but told her that this seemed to be a reoccurring problem. It seems that she was having other outside commitments interfering with her work schedule. I reached the end of my rope when she called my aunt 20 minutes before she was to arrive at her house to clean, claiming illness. I didn't believe her b/c she 1.made no effort whatsoever to reschedule the appointment and 2. This now made 3x she had made excuses for not showing. I had to fire her.
Be advised. When she is working she is competent and does a great job, however she is NOT reliable and unprofessional in her business scheduling conduct. And personally, she had absolutely no appreciation of the fact that she was dealing with a very upset elderly lady who's life she had disrupted when hearing that she wasn't coming on such short notice. Totally unacceptable, DO NOT HIRE HER!!!

We were lucky to find her. She had great references and she has done a very nice job in cleaning our house. Surprisingly, she even cleans the on our patio! She has been working for us for a few months and we trust her and are not afraid to leave her in the house alone. She is prompt, very pleasant, has a good crew and brings her own cleaning supplies. Very happy to recommend her. Her price is reasonable as well.
