Contract and specification development was professional, and very comprehensive. Structural issues with the shed dormer were evaluated by an engineer, and the design validated before the pricing was final. Weiss has a specialist (Amy) responsible for the selection of materials and the esthetics of the design details. She was amazing, helpful without being pushy, but keeping us from becoming the critical path by our indecision. The principle (Greg) was a commanding presence. He had absolute control of his sub-contractors, the sequence of the project, and the coordination of the delivery of materials. The two of them were very effective as a team, visited the site daily, answered questions quickly and completely. The project had an impact on virtually the entire house, and was a real stress test for us. But we always knew the plan, the schedule and what to expect by when. Weiss has a group of sub-contractors that know Weiss' expectations and have a history of solid performance. This seems to be the major difference. A general contractor that knows how to facilitate the work of a diverse and professional set of quality subcontractors. Weiss was not the low bidder on this job, but the end product, the schedule and the total experience were exceptional. We would recommend them for anyone considering a substantial and complex remodel or renovation.
