When the work was performed, it was fine. However, after the first month or so of work, the workers stopped coming. Despite repeated calls to the Seif brothers. no one bothered to answer my calls, let alone come to mow my grass. Very disappointed in this company. I thought they were more professional than this.

They damaged my yard and messed up my fence and they didn't want to make it right. It ended up costing me like $300 to repair it because it is a rolled out fence. The guy damaged it and lied about it. They were looking for someone to blame and the guy got really defensive about it and I said, "Okay, I better find somebody else. I don't feel comfortable continuing to have you guys." They were charging $40. It's one thing when you mess up, you own up to it. The price was good, but not when you have to repair your fence. I will not use them again in the future.

Upon seeing the completed installation, I could tell that the sod had been improperly installed in some places (i.e. it had not been properly rolled and flattened) and was already turning yellow, indicating it was in shock and about to die.
I sent Jeremy an e-mail shortly after (on May 3 2012), to the e-mail address on his company's invoices: [email protected], asking him to replace the pieces of sod that were dead. I attached three photos of the dead sod to this e-mail so he could clearly see the issue. I received no response, so followed-up by sending him another e-mail (on May 13 2012) which again went unanswered. I sent yet another, third, e-mail on July 19, 2012 which again he did not reply to.
Finally, I gave up trying to e-mail Jeremy and sent him a text about this same issue on September 5, 2012. Jeremy replied he did not have an e-mail address, which is not true as his e-mail address was clearly printed on invoices his company sent to me in 2012. Jeremy agreed to come out and look at the sod on September 6, 2012 and I gave him hard copies of both my e-mail to him and photos of the dead sod from back in May 2012.
Upon arrival outside our house, he became very irate (shouting) and claimed the sod must have died because we did not water it (which is not true - other parts of the sod were fine as they had been installed correctly). He also threatened my wife and suggested we would be sorry for upsetting him because he would do something to our property, which caused us to call the Carmel police shortly after he left as a precautionary measure.
Another issue with his company is their billing accuracy, as they often include duplicate items which need to be carefully reviewed by the customer - I actually had to create an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of this. At this point, as he is not going to make the job right by carrying out the repair, I have informed him that his services are no longer required but I do believe he has some anger management issues which are causing havoc to both his customers and business.

Response from Seif Brothers Landscaping
"When the temp is above 90-100 degrees and you ask for sod, you better be watering,,, no water ans no care for the new sod we put down. What happens is you don't care for a plant with no water or plant food, it DYES. This man blamed us for that and it was HIS problem!!! Also, and this is the best part, he did NOT pay for mowings ans I still will add to my customer list that I will Sue. Some people are gOOD and some are BAD....this guy is one of the BAD ones. Don't deal with him!"

We hired them in the spring of 2010 to give us a full season mowing service, we pre-paid for ~30 lawn cuts and got a discount. All of this worked well until they stopped coming in August and did not show up until October because they 'got rid of a lawn on our street and gave the crew our address by mistake'. We never got any money back for their mistake of the ~6-7 times they did not show up.
At the beginning of the season we also hired them to fill an area with soil and seed. They chose to give an estimate by looking over the fence, rather than coming while we would be home, which they did and it was very reasonable. However, when they came to bring the soil it was not enough and to complete the job it was 3X the original estimate. The soil was packed in, and a year and a half later there is still too much (mud runs everywhere when it rains) and the grass not growing well. Very sloppy job.
They prefer to communicate by text messaging rather than calling back or meeting in person. We also had issues with billing, even though we pre-paid we still got a few invoices, which we had to call and remind them (by voicemail).

Jeremy Seif was responsive and professional when we first hired his company, which he now calls The Seif Experience L.L.C., at 2219 Tam-O-Shanter Ct, Carmel, IN 46032, phone (317) 538-6993. His prices were reasonable. He raised them after the season had begun in 2009, but only a small amount to cover gasoline costs. We wished he would have called or email to explain the increase instead of just raising the invoice price. Still, all seemed above board until November of 2009. Because I wasn't working, I was home to observe the work done. The Seifs' men came only once, on November 2nd, and mowed only the front yard. My husband mowed the back yard several days later. When I received first an email invoice and then a hard copy invoice by mail, I was stunned by 3 things: 1. I was billed an extra $10.00 per mowing for "Leaf Chopping/blowing" on October 26th and November 2nd, with no prior notice that this was a separate service that was being done. 2. I was billed the full amount for the November 2nd front yard only mowing plus that extra $10.00. 3. I was billed for mowings on November 9th and 16th. To be sure I wasn't imagining that the lawn hadn't been mowed since November 2nd, I walked around it. Two large tree branches lay in the front yard exactly where they were on November 8th when I did some cleanup work around shrubbery. I responded to the Seifs' second invoice with a letter explaining that their men had not come after mowing just the front lawn on November 2nd. I said that $36.00 left on my account from a check I mailed them on October 2nd should cover that mowing. I also offered to meet with the Seifs, their men, and my husband to discuss the situation face-to-face. I heard no more from the Seifs until March 3rd, 2010, when Jeremy Seif phoned me to ask why I had not yet paid for the mowing on November 9th. I repeated the information I'd included in my letter, and he asked why I hadn't called him. He claimed that he never received the letter and asked where I mailed it. I told him that I mailed it to the same address that I mailed my checks to. I offered again to meet with him, his men, and my husband. He said that wouldn't be necessary, but he knew his men wouldn't have marked off that they'd mowed my yard on November 9th if they hadn't. He made no mention of the invoiced November 2nd mowing that was only half done or the invoiced November 16th mowing that wasn't done at all. At this point I believed he was purposefully billing for work undone. I reported my complaint to the Better Business Bureau, asking for no resolution except for the Seifs to stop cheating their customers. I have not heard of any official resolution.

They come every week on the same day (weather permitting) and do a great job keeping the yard looking good. They always take time to clean the grass clippings off of the driveway and sidewalk.

They really went out of their way to get my job done taking special circumstances into consideration. They were timely and I had several quotes on this job and they were very competitive, as well. I'd definitely use them again.
