"There was definitely a communication issue with this customer. We did create a conceptual drawing of the area she wanted to have landscaped. The pricing was determined per the plan and broken down for different things. Since the overall landscape concepts on the plan encompassed spending more money then she wanted to invest at the time we recommended a starting point consisting of things we considered priority items. These elements would be installed first and then additional phases could be created to add elements to the space down the road. This also allowed the homeowner to pick how much money she wanted to spend at any given time. A proposal was created that indicated the work she wanted us to perform at the time. The work was performed as per the contract. She even asked us to perform extra work and had us enlarge the original bed shape to encompass an area that was not included in the original proposal. We sent her an invoice for the work and it was only then that she realized what she signed. We like to assume and have no problem assuming responsibility for our actions. Obviously, this case is no different. As we look back at this scenario, we can see that we needed to have done a better job of communicating what was included in the contract. Unfortunately, her idea of what she was receiving was not what she had agreed to receive per the proposal. We apologized for the communication issues. She asked for and received a credit for some of the work we had completed in an effort to make her feel better about the experience, but by then she was upset and she felt like we misled her. Since that was her perception regardless of what actually transpired or the actual facts of this situation...by then the damage was done. We are sorry this customer's experience was not a positive one. It was an unfortunate experience for everyone involved. We can only hope to learn form this one to ensure a similar situation does not occur with another customer. Sincerely, Pro Care Horticultural Services"
